10 things you should know:
1. last friday (feb 2nd) was the most fun thing in forever. i got together with 5 other USC musicians in the back of the John Lennon Educational Bus (jlsc.com/bus/) at 10 am, we wrote a song by 11:30, had it recorded in the studio (back of the bus) by 12:30, and by about 4 oclock succeeded in making the most random music video ever. the guys i worked with were such amazing musicians, super super fun people too, so the whole experience was just awesome. the guys from the bus were awesome too. within a week the video will be online and available to download for free to your ipod, so i’ll be sure to keep you updated on that. making a song with 5 other people was totally crazy, but it turned out so well. the guys whipped out some awesome chord progressions in no time, and in the last 20 minutes before we had to start recording i frantically wrote the lyrics and melody– which at first were the first random words that came to my head, and somehow by the end of that 20 minutes had formulated themselves into a moderately cohesive theme. i swear it– songs just write themselves. oh and also, this experience really pumped me up for wanting to play with a band again sometime, so we’ll see what happens there.
2. i am sick. sick is stupid! i have a show tomorrow, so the goal is kill off evil germs in my sleep tonight so i can go rock the UCI starbucks tomorrow. cross your fingers for me waking up with a voice!
3. i make amazing vegetable soup! mmmmm.
4. last night i dreamt i ordered this soup… and in this soup… were three soft shelled turtles (heads and legs removed), and (i shouldn’t say this, lest i gross people out and they never come back to my site again/think i am disturbed and creepy) 3 little pig fetuses! oh my gosh, i’m so sorry i just told you that. if it makes you feel any better, i just couldn’t do it… it was very … scary… and… yeah. waking up happened sometime soon after that.
5. my family is super awesome. my grandparents celebrated their 60th anniversary by gathering the whole grannis crew together this weekend. i won’t even go into the festivities that went on because it might start sounding like a cheesy brady bunch type affair, but in sum, it was amazing. 60 years of marriage is amazing. my family = amazing. *tear*
6. is my favorite number
7. always seemed like a meanish number to me, but thats because most odd numbers seemed mean to me ever since i was little, perhaps because you can’t share things between two people evenly if they come in odd numbers, so naturally, odd numbers must be kind of mean.
8. i finished another new song. it’s called “protect her”.
9. it’s time for sleep. goodnight and stay posted for news on my crazy music video experience, new songs, etc.
10. love, kina.

You are surely one of the kindest, sweetest persons I know. Your reason for not liking an uneven number was really touching. You must have good parents. hahaha! no, truly, I found that really very poignant.

Yes, I agree – songs just write themselves!
So do poems!
Sometimes, I feel like my poems are written through me rather than by me.!
And 6 is my favorite number too, along with 3 and 9!
So many cool things happened in my life that were related to those numbers and on those dates with such numbers!
And I just thought that stuff about odd numbers were the cutest thing ever!

haha. I also love your odd number theory. And also, this is a very creative post set up. One of the things I love about you is your creativity. You might not think it’s much, but I find it adorable and it never fails to make me smile.
