something on my toe.

i will start off by saying that my new place in austin is really really awesome. it’s tucked away on a little hill, a short walk away from barton springs and a green belt. being surrounded by nature is just my kind of thing too. the laundry machines are outside under the house, so when you go down there it’s pretty buggy. yesterday when i did my laundry i found this awesome spider that was probably 4 inches in length with its legs outstretched. one of those cool black and yellow ones that have a thick zig zag down the center of their web. i had fun observing it for a good ten minutes. i even tossed in a little bug for it as a treat (is that morbid?) my point is, i dig the nature thing. i’ve been a bug girl all my life.

–however–

i do NOT like gigantic cockroaches grabbing onto my toe when i am walking into the kitchen in the middle of the night. in the dark. situation goes a bit like this:
hmm, i know my way around here, forget the light. i just need to put these dishes away. *puts dishes in dishwasher, walks out of kitchen* hmm, that’s funny, it feels like something is clinging to my toe. what kind of object could feel like tha– *turns on light* –aaaaaah! of course the scream was inside my head, (i am an internal screamer, i don’t scream unless being tickled to death, in which case you can count on me discontinuing our friendship, because i like to be able to breathe, thank you.) so i mean, maybe it didn’t look too dramatic. i shook it off and picked it up with a paper towel and threw it outside and that was that, but man, if you could have only been inside my head.

on the music front, i’ve been debating joining the youtube craze as a means of casually sharing new songs with everyone, without needing to record anything too time consuming and fancy. youtubers can get pretty hated on, though, so i’m a little hesitant.

i wrote a new song a few nights ago. pretty fun to sing. i’ll sing it for you right now. only you probably won’t be able to hear it. it’s called “go, go, go.”

until later,
the kinster.
