Ah right hand technique…why must you be so elusive?

Interesting video. Sad about teeny bear. Has he been missing since the last time you showed us that drawing in his absence? That can’t be good. I suspect it was…Mama G, in the laundry room, with the crowbar. You know how mothers are about old dirty things…

I’d like to wish a happy thanksgiving to all bloggers (us and non-us alike).

Thank you Kina for sharing your music with us, I have only tried using 2 fingers on my pick hand so far, but I will make an attempt at the goldfish song someday soon.

Thank you also for including me in your shoutouts, waiting a whole year for a bday shoutout just seemed an eternity, so thank you and yes you did make my day :))

I’m thinking of getting a cam this weekend so I may make some postings of my own on youtube.

Would you at all be interested in seeing me struggle at one of your songs or covers? I remember you saying in 1 video “if you could only see all the people you were playing for”, it’s not the same but close enough perhaps.

Anyway, if I ever make one I’ll be sure to post it here.

Thank you bloggers for blogging into my life.
Thank you Kina for sharing yours with us.
Thank the turkey for jumping on our plates.
But never, no never thank bill gates.

(not sure where that came from, but its 8am here, cut me some slack :P)

Your tutorials are some of my favorite videos. Every time I watch them, I feel like playing right away…although, I don’t have a guitar and I don’t know how to play. lol I can foresee me learning to only play your songs and being happy about it.

Happy Thanksgiving to you, Kina and the whole Grannis family…and my fellow Street Teamers and everyone else.

And Happy Birthday to Arch and Meeks!

avweije said on...

@mojojojo78:
LOL. I had a good laugh at that one, here I am thinking you play guitar… cute.

I have to say watching the videos does the same for me, I am typing with the guitar on my lap and I have had it there since I woke up this morning (I’ve actually played a bit already too, just found out I’m not a morning-guitar-person)

@Alexpham:
We don’t do thanksgiving here (holland), but my absolute fav-meal is the xmas dinner. I am part english and spent most of my xmasss’s in england, and their xmas dinner is probably closest to a thanksgiving dinner we have here.

Big ole turkey, gravy, roast potatoes, stuffing, veggies, trifle.

God life can be good.

“Vietnamese people” in dutch is “Vietnamese mensen”.

people=mensen, Vietnamese is the same, just pronounced differently, it would be something like this:

The “vietnam” part is similar, then “ese” is “ace-uh”, so “vietnam-ace-uh”

Hope all your thanksgivings are good.

@Kina/family

I’ve just been watching Kina’s Realize cover, and after all this time, it has only just occurred to me to ask what caused the camera to fall, was it a camera attacking snail like had happened to mine?

I think that might have happened because that notoriously over amarous snail fancied his chances with the one he’d spotted in the lens, ie his own reflection!

Oh, if one first finds/plays Kina’s latest video within the blahg, does that then stop the subscription one from being sent, as I still haven’t received it, although I’ve now got one in a new playlist anyway, but something’s amiss, somewhere along the line!

@CLS_LURCH:

Thanks for sharing that with me CLS_LURCH, sickening though it is to hear of others also having computer/You Tube problems! I’ve been having that much trouble within my site again that I (and I am being serious) almost deleted my account again a few times since this video was posted and I would have done without hesitation if I only held subscriptions, but I have have lost friends through deleting previous accounts and have been blessed to have kept some over and over again, some have done that until this account had been opened and either haven’t got around to pal up again or have now had enough – if the latter is the case, I don’t blame them, I’ve long ago had more than enough of all the computer strife! A smidgen of the woes being faced can be viewed on my channel, which can be got to by clicking upon the blue link above this text, to be honest though, I think many of the problems are Windows Internet Explorer/Microsoft based!

May computer peace settle upon us before we settle in the ground and get the Heaven issue perfect one for gratis!

Anyway, after reading this, I bet you’d rather I’d only played the good old Thunder and Lighting game at your door earlier on, so don’t bother getting up, I’ll close the door on my way out of here;))

Could even be the Kina/MamaG partnership working away at some mischieveousness level of cookieness, afterall, they’ve both been missing in action a lot and the image has been missing too at times, but it’s all good:) and no TROUBLE:-

Snow??!! How much? What kind?

I can’t get enough snow. Mostly because I love the smell and the way it muffles sound. But I also love it because my fellow Northern Virginians are wholly incapable of handling the smallest of flakes. I love to watch them flounder about so helplessly. The entire metropolitan Washington DC area is hopelessly crippled my a mere 2″ dusting. So even the hint of snow means a paid day off!

I did get the recipe for the turnovers. Now we are home, so we will shop for some seasonal favorites and maybe even a small turkey for our house. The downside to visiting family is not have the leftovers for turkey sandwiches. So I will be making the pumpkin turnovers. We’d be happy to share one with you, but will do so in spirit at least.

How long did the guest from Vietnam stay? Where are they from in Vietnam? I don’t think I ever asked you that either. My wife was born in Tra Vinh which is a province in the Mekong Delta. She still has family there. Her aunt built a hospital there, but she is in Philadelphia now and someone else in the family is running the hospital.

g3mini passed along the recipe. They are more like individual pies. But I’ve seen Mexican ones that have pumpkin, chilies and chorizo.

I heard there is a large Vietnamese population near New Orleans. Probably the climate and the fishing is an attraction.

Well, I’m signing out from the east coast. It’s been a long travel day. Good to be home in my own bed!! Night all!

I am guessing they are up north like Ha Noi. Well hopefully i can cme over there after my college years and help the hospital twice a year well the kids anyway and maybe the old, but how was your kids during your journey? were they asleep or a handful? well usually i am in the car with my little cousins they don’t mess around i just listen and play with them heehee i wish i can meet your kids they seem like angels.=)

@ Misa/Emi & Boyfriend/any1interested

Here’s something that might tickle your fancy, but I’ll give a word of caution, my computer would not allow the design kit to be opened, so be careful if your thinking of saving or opening the zip file – its details are shown so you can give it a look over Misa, obviously it’s not shown in their click for it:)

“DESIGN SP ARTWORK

To celebrate the release of Crack the Shutters, SP.com are running a competition to design the artwork for the website only remix version of the single.

The best one will be chosen by the band and will be the official digital single sleeve. The only rule we’re setting for this one is that you need to have Snow Patrol and Crack the Shutters somewhere on the artwork, but otherwise get those creative juices flowing.

We’ve also uploaded a design kit which includes the 7″ and CD covers for inspiration and the required text in our SP font. You can get this by clicking
http://zaphod.uk.vvhp.net/click/5320075-69101/webbeta.sov.uk.vvhp.net/~universal/Polydor/snowpatrol/CTS_design_kit.zip.

Entries need to be emailed to us at remixcomp@snowpatrol.com by Wednesday 10th December, with the artwork sent to us as a Square JPEG, 72 dpi to fit 350px x 350px.

N.B. Please try and keep the files underneath 2MB’s.

Good Luck

November 29, 2008

@maryanne:

So the fear of the sight of white seems almost universal. =P
So far, we only had flurries for about 5 minutes which evaporated before they hit the ground, but it was still the lead story on the local news. 8/

Favorite character: hmmmmmm. This could take weeks lol ;-D

That would have to be OTH (other than House). I love them all except Vogler which is a given thx to Chi McBride’s brilliance as an actor.

I loved Amber from the start b/c it was clear that the screenwriters wanted you to hate her as CTB. In hindsight through reruns, she was even more incredible. But she won me over on the speech she gave to House about watching the football game and noticing that the winning team was the happiest one.

That is from my all-time favorite ep. “Games” with the incredible character Jimmy Quidd (Jeremy Renner). He’d be my alter ego if it wasn’t for the need to have a job and raise a family hahaha “Maybe purposelessness is my purpose.” (Although David Shore didn’t write that one, so it would be rude to exclude him–so there are many more fav eps.)

The way Amber’s character ended in such a non-traditional (for lack of a better term) love triangle with House and Wilson was genius.

So, see what I mean. I could talk about this show all day if I had the chance and a slight hope that anyone would hang in there for more than a few minutes. (Huff’s the name, right Sabafa??)

Your fav characters?

So to keep this minimally OT, music fans can see the link for a rundown of all the sound track choices by ep which are some pretty great tunes.

@sabafa: Haha – I hadn’t thought of that. No, I just wondered really. I think the other two guitars are Taylors so maybe they are much better than the black one and its fallen out of favour but I think the black guitar looks cool :-).

If I was racing with Kina it’d probably have to be a marathon – an 11000 mile round trip is a bit far for a 10k! I wasn’t planning to do my first marathon till 2010 but the guys at the running club this morning were talking about doing Berlin next year and I was feeling tempted. Too late to do London in April – you have to apply a year in advance, or get a charity place and they are quite expensive (about £1500).

Anyway, it’d be silly to run a marathon whilst carrying a guitar – Kina might beat me!

(Actually, IIRC her best mile time is around 5m30s which is around a predicted 3hr finish time equivalent for a marathon on a flat course in good conditions. My best race time to date is 1hr40 for a half-marathon which is around 3hr30 for a full. Though she does have the advantage of about 14 less years and quite a few stones less weight advantage. Though even when I was younger I doubt I ran a 5:30 mile.)

Welcome back to thanksgiving holidaying folks.

Good to hear and yes I think it looks cool too! If it didn’t usually cost less than a couple of hundred for shipping costs, etc, I’d be banking on Kina having enough sway after winning the SF bash next year to have them Taylor the route the following year to being from the airport to her house and back, so that she could leave the Tak with the baggage handlers to (ahrm) take good care of it so as not to damage/loose it, whilst you two trotted off to her house for a nice measure of alcoholic apple, chinn wagg fan festival before racing off back to the airport totally not worrying about the fact that you haven’t been able to better the view all the way because you were blessed with being slower than Kina at that as well as any other time and the drink/flight can be blamed for enjoyably poor performance – sounds a good race all in;) but then again, you might be left with a lousy view because Kina’s skedaddled off out of view8.¬.(

Thanks for thinking on it so much now Windscale, you obviously hadn’t beforehand<3bless you for that:P Been fun, byes:)

Cool, have Marxed it well, and will likely do so, should something clearly happen, have dealt with many a bully, which your name is also well documented as being known for, but I figured that you of all people would not have put the ‘??’ rather than ‘!!’ by mistake, and thus took it in fun but as ‘nout as queer as folk’ can easily set in where there are no other visual signals to ease a message across, a light clasping of a possible nettle was applied and thankfully, uncalled for = good on ya m8 and I’m sorry if it caused you the very slightest of distress! <3u all the more 4 u meanig it the way you did~[(8D

Hmm I really don’t have A fav character, they all have cool qualities. Cameron and Wilson are the nicest so I guess I’ve fallen for them :P. Whoa I just watched the latest episode and 13 got a beating :(.

oh nice, thanks for the music site. I knew Iron and Wine’s music was in one of the eps but i didn’t know what song. And when I heard House’s ring tone(mmmbop!) I laughed. !t reminded me of the grannis girls’ jam session!

I think Wilson is gr8. He takes a lot from House, but dishes it right back up. I like the new blond Cameron who has gotten so much stronger as a person and quite funny. Yes, 13 had quite a beating, but it was a real turning point for her. It was her best ep yet. Now she can face down her Huntingtons. Foreman is the most fascinating. He is so torn up inside–total love/hate with House. The eps when he nearly died had some of the best acting ever on TV–Omar Epps was awesome.

There were lots of singers that Kina has covered on the House play list. I thought of the exact same thing with mmmBop!! =D So funny.

Our Christmas plans are simple. We’ll spend the time with our sons. We don’t go overboard, just a few simple gifts, but mostly spending time together. We have a Vietnamese Christmas dinner.

I think I’ll need to get my oldest (6 years old) a real guitar. We got him a junior one last year, but it won’t hold a tune at all. He came in the room before to show me he could play along with Kina on “Disturbia.” That’s his fav song. He says he dreams about the bum bum be dum bum bums!! But he was a bit sad that his guitar is so much smaller. We’ll make it right.

Seriously, before I heard this song, I used to tell my son a bedtime story about how a volcanic island formed far away in the ocean and grew into a paradise with volcanic sand and jungles filled with fruits and flowers. So it helped keep his mind off “things like monsters and the like” which really did live in his closet. Well, the song works for us–up to a point, of course.

Wind instruments huh, ever play on a didgeridoo? I have one here and sometimes play on it, again, I’m not good, but can do the circular breathing thing and a couple of cute sounds.

@sabafa:

Yup, tried that already, it was still quite soft. Played around a bit more and found an overal sound volume that I increased (which increased everything, so I had to lower my speakers again). That upped the volume a bit, but I haven’t done a test yet making a new vid.

I’d like to ask Kina what tool she uses, since she does some nice editing as well. I’d like to have something where I can merge a video and a sound file. If I can record the sound seperately I can get the volume up.

Ah well, I’ll look around a bit, might be a good thing you can’t hear my youtube vids at the moment :P ghehe

I searched the net, found a review website of free video editors, downloaded 4, tried them, wasn’t too pleased with any of them.

Had another think, did another search, checked my Start Menu and found Windows Movie Maker, beats all 4 that I downloaded.

So basically, I had the tool on my pc all along.

*ahem*

as for the newbie part, technically you could say that i’m not a newbie anymore. however, it’s really only been a month since joining this wonderful place so i still consider myself a newb. i was going to officially change my name after i see and meet kina in person at a concert of her’s. i want to walk up to her, hold out my hand and say ‘hi, i’m confused newbie’ and give her a hug and thank her for her music. in the meantime, i would love to hear some name change suggestions. try me…anything, just throw it out here…i love to laugh so don’t hold back. ‘enlightened veteran’…haha…

one more thing mini, i saw your pic on youtube…that’s you, right?

I see someone knows how to not waste words, good save! These are economical with their words too:-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He6xMw-ABt8

but I can’t seem to leave it alone at the moment, must be something subliminal in it like when a female is simply in view of an inexperienced male and he thinks he’s in like Flynn no matter what signifiers are displayed to him and despite the obvious fact that he knows his own track record shows no action has been taken up to that point and so it is largely just in his head:/ perhaps rembering kev and perry’s comedy film would give a fair indication of such train of ‘dare I call it this, mmm, ok’ thought! Well, if this video doesn’t have any, and I note that there are some scenes on it that don’t seem to be noticed until a fluke pause has been actioned, I reckon that my triggers are being buzzed by all the quick shots of Rickenbacker’s, which made me wonder if, besides the obvious Kina connection, that the simple fact that her Tak’s black with white edging like on some Ricks has been enough signification to bring about the desire for it = hmm!+might have to book a 1way ticket to a padded cell for myself, going so gaga 4m:P

Anyways :db: best be quick and withdraw the welcome and be happy gossiping with the others, for I’m just as happy to glide by than drop in and put my feet under the table for one or more if offerred, so don’t get upset if I don’t always respond, besides I might actually just miss spotting a bazillion comments or two as I’ve never been one for bothering with this sort of thing, as oasis know full well, prior to Kina and I don’t like being away from viewing music =

So we really only had Pancit, Lumpia (Fressshh), Buko Pie, and…. (drumroll)… Balut! I had two!

Even more interesting, it’s the first Thanksgiving we’ve had with mashed potatoes. odd, huh?

Sometimes a mute can be put on by (?) I guess an update, so watch out for those areas to be the cure for that and within the one for surround system if you have one, which if you have, is another area to check out that recording/mute setting too.

You could ask Kina at kina@kinagrannis.com too, but I’m pretty sure she uses imovie and garageband, so as you’ve found moviemaker, have a shufftie for garageband, but you’d be lucky to find that that was bundled, so perhaps go check out the beta at microsoft’s technet or windows live even as I’m pretty sure their (Cruise Ship/Space Craft/whatever it was called!/?) provided me with one many full system restores ago – yipes no, leave them and go and buy Garageband or similar if you can:) Oh, I know, Kina talked about what she uses in one of her videos, erm I think it was around about ‘Disturbia’ onwards, so that’s a pleasent way of finding your information out without disturbing Kina, but she loves us, so you could totally go there without the likes of this happening, no matter what size you are;)-

Been meaning to ask, where in NoVa do you reside? I travel to Alexandria about once a month, about 10 minutes outside of Old Town. My ulterior motive is that I want to know if you have any recommendations for good Vietnamese restaurants in the area. So far our go-to for Pho is Viet House up the street from his apartment, which is surprisingly good for a relatively clean, well-lit, spacious place in a strip mall (I’m used to dingy little holes-in-the-wall in Chinatown, NYC).

@Misa:

Hi Misa, hope you enjoyed your trip and Thanksgiving. =D

I lived in Fairfax, then Manassas and now much further out in Fauquier county–away from the traffic. I was on the Fairfax campus of GMU, but now at the smaller Manassas campus which is for biomedical research, mostly. My wife lived in Falls Church which is a little bit north and west of Alexandria. Her mom still lives there and ferries out some goodies whenever she comes out this way.

I think Viet House is a small chain. If so, we go to the one in Fairfax all the time. It is *the* best. =D Very busy, but very friendly and everything is very fresh. My wife also recommends Pho 75’s of which there are many around. Her family goes to the one in Falls Church (just outside of Alexandria) on Rte 50.

If you have a way to get around, try Eden Center at 7 Corners in Virginia.

http://edencenter.com/

Even if you need to take a metro bus, it’s worth the trip at least once. It is like a Little Saigon with a dozen or so restaurants, bakeries and shops. It can get pretty intense and a bit chintzy–you know the word if you live in Queens!! ;-D

But there are a lot of treasures around. Even the markets have great Viet delis. Let me know what you think, if you do go!!

UR right about Foreman. He is torn between loathing, fearing and admiring House all at the same time. I like the complexity.

Local hole in the wall for Chinese is Mark’s Duck House in Arlington off Rte 50. Great duck plus non-Americanized menu.

For Dim Sum, try one of the Fortune’s. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at the one on Rte 50 (a pattern emerges). I think they are all owned together, but I’ve heard different stories. They only serve at specific times, the rest of the time is regular Chinese menu.

@g3mini and AlexPham: Thanksgiving was good, relaxing, CT was quite nice despite the brief scare regarding Penn Station on Thanksgiving Day (“The FBI reports that Al-Qaeda considered attacking New York City’s public transportation system during the Thanksgiving holiday blah blah blah”). Got to go Christmas tree shopping with my cousins, which was fun, and had a surprisingly easy time eating Thanksgiving linner (eaten at around 4pm) despite the stitches in my lip and fillings in my teeth.

Screwy said on...

November 30, 2008

Hi peoples! looks like I have some reading to do.

Misa said on...

November 30, 2008

@AlexPham: That’s a toss-up. I think I have several favorites. Usually my favorites are my aunt’s mushroom casserole, my mom’s brussels sprouts, mashed potatoes with my aunt’s gravy, my cousins’ grandmother’s cranberry sauce, stuffing and of course, pumpkin pie from costco smothered in whipped cream. This year I was at a different house, though, so the offerings were different. I think my favorite this year would have to be the perfectly cooked turkey or the baked sweet potatoes and apples. I wasn’t able to slather the pie in whipped cream this year, so better for my waistline, worse for my tastebuds. Still, pumpkin pie, mmmm.

Also, I had no idea stitches caused so much pain on their own. I only had three in my lower lip (inside), but the whole time they were in my entire jaw ached (my teeth hurt, my jaw hurt, my lip hurt) to the point of needing a constant flow of acetaminophen (or god forbid vicodin–which, by the way, made me feel horribly sick on both an empty and a full stomach, so I’ve decided I don’t much like the stuff) into my body. As soon as they took the stitches out (yesterday), even though the procedure itself hurt like heck, the pain in my mouth and lip was gone! My lip was no longer sore to the touch, my teeth stopped hurting, and the only pain in my jaw was from my fillings. I had thought the persistent pain was from my lip still healing, but I’m pretty sure it was just from the presence of the stitches. Now the inside of my lip feels really funky and is still a little discolored even though the swelling went down. I just hope the scarring in there heals quickly and that the purple splotch on my lip goes away soon! It looks like I have a really large birthmark.

g3mini said on...

November 30, 2008

@Misa: stitches in your lip?? who punched you?? lol… let’s send the angry mob! hahaha

@Mama G: yes, it is a lot to read. if i had to read the whole thing over again, i’d probably need a nap, too. how was your thanksgiving, Mama G? hope it was awesome! turkey coma, yeah?? lol…

@thuff7: a virtual bbq christmas? hmm… maybe one before or after, ’cause i think our families will be a bit upset if we spend our christmas in front of the computer all day! lol… but if we have one, i’ll bring the bbq & rice… hahaha.

@g3mini: I had a weird bump (a mucus seal, to be exact–word to the wise, do not chew on canker sores excessively) that they removed. Wasn’t an essential procedure but it was driving me insane and getting in the way of everything so they cut it out.

@AlexPham: Usually the entire extended family (my paternal grandfather’s branch of the family tree) meets up at one of my dad’s siblings’ houses and each family brings a dish or two they’re famous for, then everyone hangs out all afternoon, eats far too late (everyone else I know eats between noon and 4pm to allow plenty of digestion time, one family even ate at noon and then had a scheduled naptime), hangs out a bit more, and then some families camp out while others go home. Historically, the next day my dad used to rally his siblings to go buy new computers, but I think that trend has probably died in recent years :P I haven’t been home for many thanksgivings in the past few years, so I haven’t been around for any changes in tradition.

@Misa: No way. Ok people, I don’t mean to disgust anyone but I have to ask this. Umm, the bump you used to have, did it feel like excess skin and it would get in the way and it would be very annoying and you with you could just bite it off?? just something so cute I had to share, I’ve got the tiniest of ponds in my garden, its about 1.5m by 0.5m or about 4 by 2 foot (not accurate, but gives an idea) and I just had to shoo off a couple of ducks!

It started last week, when at 1 point there were 4 ducks sitting in the pond, dipping their heads down for drinks, lol

They hardly even fitted in there! And now today it was return of the ducks, but I got there first and shoo’d them off :P so at least my fish (2 of them, sponge and bob) will be safe!

I might have to put some fencing around it, hmm

So, that should be enough to get the blood boiling should you wish to turn a little rosy Mama G;)

Cute Lemon/Rose reason not been mentioned as far as I know, but check out the mix of complex and simple forms combined with the closely loose complementary colours that give each other a little extra zing and add on the similarish hues also being present to emesh the plausibility of the object as something which could be imagined as being truly generic and Kina might have then have the answer!

PS Don’t say you’ve not had enough time to step forward with a reason blahgers, I’ve bitten my lip since the post, but essentially, you now have something else to also continue the blahg ever forward to a new record and lets face it as I’m a little more than half asleep, and not seen the video for a couple of days, I could easily have put something down to disagree with or make jest about, whatever, I’ll probably let you get away with murder over it and not be bothered, subjectivity and all that jazz:P

Pausing is not only totally allowed, but possibly even necessary for some to be truly noticed:)

Oh! and did I mention that some images are of the uncloathed variety, so neck up only viewing of Kina likenesses is of course a prerequisite behaviour for the kina nation;)

I´d like to hear your point of view concerning Kina´s career. We´ve seen the videos of your daughters as children, performing and singing… and every parent believes his/her child is the talented one… but when did you realize that Kina might actually be good enough to do this professionally? What were your feelings when she started pursuing her career after college? I know you were very supportive, but when Kina started on such an unpredictable path, you must have had some worries?

Well, not as bad as I thought. First, be sure to view the comments by hitting the “View all 216 Comments” link because that lists the responses in order and nests the responses to the comment they are replying to.

So most of the expletive-containing comments are arguments between ):people:( and not directed at Kina. Only two or three are offensive to her. But those posters are sociopaths and their choice of language shows how trivial they are. So in that context, there is no need to get worked up.

:sheaths his weapon:

Since Kina has a degree in Social Sciences/Psych, she will know quite well that given the chance to comment, one or two very rude people out of 216 is a very low number–statistically–given the fundamental nature of YouTube posters (complete anonymity, cowardly cowering behind the shelter of their ISP firewall, spewing out hatred to compensate for their own miserable lives haunted by their own social shortcomings).

So Kination, given that Kina has stepped into the fray herself replying to comments with good humor, sincerity and a peaceful demeanor, I think she is quite capable of separating the wheat from the chaff. I suggest we maintain our dignity and don’t dignify those ignoramuses by taking the time out of our good conversations to respond.

Love conquers hate and the best response I can think of is to repeat what we have said again and again, that we totally love Kina, she had absolutely nothing to apologize for and we are devoted to supporting her in whatever manner we can!

Relax over the shoe horning, it was a j/k(:joke;) but I’m so hoping that your fish are not of the golden type, like I seem to remember that they are, as if you do plan on repopulating the oceans it is preferable that this type make it no further than the fresh water of a river and no matter what fish they are, watch out for King, gull and Heron types of attack too which can also include having to net the sides of railings as well as the top, plus don’t forget the likes of cats, over sexed frogs causing injury/death or even others expiring in there like a dozy mouse thinking he a vole/rat, etc or even poachers as has also happened to moi more than once – oh koi can they be troublesome to keep = good luck!

Regarding Kina images, WHoA:/ how did she manage that then?

Talk about connections and being able to outlive a fan base through change of career!

Joking aside, maybe spelling the artists name could also be a part of the bit of fu/andom that could help reach a new record comment count a titch if entertained upon, but loosely speaking, yes you’re right = you pick up the first glass of wine and if you spot a red dot, sorry tis sold;)

Oh and don’t forget, group show rights apply in the blahgs, so all may guide, especially as I still can’t open one of my eyes after being awoken to a barking titches call of duty, yar, Long John Silver type closing this comment off.)

@Misa: “halo” is the tagalog word for mix. halo halo is a mix of many things; shaved ice, ice cream, fruits, red beans, other good stuff.
This is halo halo!
of course, i take out some stuff & add some stuff (like, jackfruit! i’m not a fan.)
so here’s a more “westernized” version of the dessert:
Halo Halo Recipe
& if you like and can find it, i usually substitute the strawberry gelatin with what they call “nata de coco” (coconut gel) and vanilla ice cream with ube ice cream. & instead of any ol’ shredded coconut that you might find in the baking section of your store, i prefer “macapuno” strings or shreds. it’s preserved sweetened coconut. that means you would have to find an asian specialty store.

thuff7 said on...

December 1, 2008

@avweije:

very cool!! what a nice back yard!!

I suspect they are just looking for a bath and a drink of water. Most ducks are herbivores, and they could do damage to submerged plants. That could effect the oxygen level in your pond and indirectly impact your fish. If you notice the plants disappearing and/or your fish being sedentary and spending most of their time near the surface, try a small aquarium aerator pump to oxygenate the water. (if you haven’t already)

Wow, enjoy the company! Resist the urge to give them people food, they can’t digest it!!!

@Misa: cute huh!

I felt bad sending them off, but I figured I had to otherwise they would consider this their new home or something :P

We have a big pond close by where the ducks live, some chickens too, kids often go there to feed them bread.

Awhile back, they were cleaning out the pond or something, and the ducks must’ve gotten confused and ended up in my humongous pond.

@g3mini: gladly not all 7, when 4 had entered the pond I felt it was time to end their little bath.

@thuff7: I don’t have a pump in there yet, and would like to try without, so far it’s going okay, just have to see how the plants go during winter. As for the nice backyard, thanks :) I do enjoy working out there, I enjoy cooking a lot also and am growing my own herbs (11 or 12 different kinds), some fruits and have tried potatoes, lettuces, chilli’s and peppers this summer (not all successful, but still fun).

@confused newbie:

Well, thanks, but I just had a ciabatta and it was yummy.

Ooohhhhh, you meant for the ducks!! ;-D

Well, it’s fun to feed them and it gets them excited and keeps them quacking for more, but they are probably better off eating their natural diet as it is balanced for their nutritional needs. Also, the herbivores may lack the digestive enzymes needed for some people food and that can cause all kinds of problems, blockages, infections, etc.

Feeding wildlife frequently creates a dependence that can be disastrous for them if that source of food suddenly stops and they have no alternative.

@g3mini:

Have you tried the bbq grill wok?? We use it all the time and great grilled stir fry (shouldn’t it be called a stir-grill???) Or fav is zucchini slices, sweet onion rings, mushrooms, garlic (natch) all slapped together with olive oil a touch of 5 spice seasoning. Fresh rosemary or thyme is also good. It helps to put it all in a ziplock to meld the flavors. A shot of Pam on the wok helps a lot and a little caution against flare ups when the oil drips on the coals.

Not being able to imitate is something I can also do, for I also contain viking genes amongst my mutt pool, but have only been known to possess the look of a viking and never the language, other than the name that some thought it apt to use, which was quite spooky really considering geneology was never brought up, but hey ho maybe that’s played a part in still being from these isles and not shunted off/gone in desperation/false promise/etc to lands a new! I’ll let this loose talk remain, but will point out that privacy lies strong within me still, do not hanker/give chase for more or I may decide to dally here no more.

I’m that tuckered now, that this has taken an age to yield and is now finally paying dividend in bringing on drowsiness at only 2040hours, I can stand my place here this night no more, hopefully I will visit in dreams those of mine whose stone marks their right to fight for independence from tyranny, if not, I shall be more rested or still awake but taking no part my friends – adieu!

So sad to hear that, as YT seem to be a flexible law unto themselves, or is it Google/its sort of hiddenish source/thank God there even exists a source to be filtered stuff down to us, so ok I suppose that makes it all cool again and no worries after all:/ as they talk of alterring embeds and show how to, but I’ve continually found that the mouse pointer is not allowed to enter any of it to alter even so much as the size the video is to be played at:.( Plus, where screen click choices are available on, let’s say Kina’s videos, which previously worked in the same fashion upon my channel, they now are stripped of such helpful stuff prior to it making it to my channel and in some portions of the channel are automatically reduced in size too = Kina’s good work brought back to nought in like nano seconds, but with regard to auto looping, I found that if you put the same video at the end of a playlist that you started it with, auto looping would occur:) Right, back to twinkle yap:) Doesn’t Kina look jubbly with the frame behind her in Flume, well a little nearer to cute during the shoulder stretches:))

Okay, here’s a new gravatar, that old heron wasn’t about to catch that fish anyways and it’s a new month. This is from top of Skyline Drive in the middle of the Shenandoah Nat’l Park. This is why they’re called the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is near or maybe even on the Appalachian Trail that runs from Georgia to Maine.

This is looking back east towards DC. When the park was built in hte 1900’s, you could see the Washington Monument 150 miles away. Now, it’s a tad hazy. :-(

If ur running Firefox, be sure to get the Zoom plugin!!!

sabafa said on...

December 1, 2008

@thuff7: Don’t worry about it, it happened to myself earlier, mind you (Aw, Kina’s just done that ‘I don’t know’ bit in Don’t Forget = separate window up like nimur mentioned;) am almost in heaven watching/typing, and if titch is trying to get me there ready for her, I’ll slap on a walk ban for a bit;)) it helps to remind one to get a drink every now and then!

sabafa said on...

December 1, 2008

@thuff7:

Oh aye, does your Mrs know about this! Haha only joking, but while talking that way, do you remember that there used to be a commenter named loller? I’m pretty sure that I’ve heard that funny/peculiar comedian from the old Carry on Films, Kenneth Williams, say that that name was used for a male that undertook, erm, lets say, that most particularly pleasurable, although threateningly toothsome activity more popularly undertook by, erm, lets say, you know what a size 8 and upwards wearer is, well, talk about making a statement – sheesh!

Gr8 ep. Guardian Angels. Cosmetician working for undertaker hallucinates dead people. Kutner digs up a body for a brain biopsy. Amber plays the CTB and owns 13. Cole punches out House and House has to pay $100 to Cameron who then owns House! =D

thuff7 said on...

Gr8 G3. I ended up telecommuting again today, so lots of work got done, no driving and I could keep Bla(h)g up on a #2 browser tab. Just tucked the boys into bed, now can chill here with you and the happy, happy kination clan.

How’s Vegas 2nite? Hope it’s gr8 for U2!!! :)
Sending good vibes your way!!

oh, and wondering if sabafa can ever get some sleep

maryanne said on...

December 1, 2008

@thuff7: sorry about your posts being swallowed up by the abyss. I have to upgrade wordpress AGAIN but haven’t had the chance, and it always seems as if Akismet gets a bit overzealous once one’s wordpress install becomes out of date. no clue why those posts would have disappeared since they had zero links in them. Perhaps it was the formatting–I’ve seen a lot of spam comments that just have line after line of urls or random pill varieties or whathaveyou.

@Misa:

Thanks, Misa. Not a problem at all!! Certainly not important. As someone said before, it gives the site a little personality. Plus, it’s a little fun to try and figure it out on your own. I saw the 3 posts in the spam queue on the dashboard and figured they were mine, so the trick was to figure out why. As soon as I reformatted the post, it ran fine. So something triggered it. Short sentences and lots of (p)(/p) tags, maybe??

Anyway, all in all, the site works great, so no worries!! But again, thanks for being the awesome admin!!! “You’re not just an admin, you’re also a member!”

@Misa: No fair:( I was so trying to do that, as you surely did notice, as I know Kina likes it kept clean + minors about, but, yes, sorry, will try harder, no wait, might be best to just try to avoid, so hopefully that’s a clinched deal then Misa = spat on hand and holding it out for you to reciprocate<3

@sabafa: Hee hee, it’s okay, no harm actually meant. I just thought it was funny. My only real concern was all the “related videos” thumbnails that popped up. Sorry I didn’t catch this earlier, too, as there are actually times when I’m away from my computer. ;) /shakes sabafa’s hand, if he’s still around.

It was a great tutorial, was very useful for me! Currently play it in standard tuning most the time, but this vid really showed me how useful it is to change the tuning now and then. Start getting the hang of it :P Thanks!
