emi came up for the weekend so we decided we should have some fun :)
we had to do about a billion takes of this video. originally it was shot outside in my backyard, but we kept running into problems, some of which i have listed below:
1. a bug flew in my ear
2. someone’s car alarm randomly went off every 8 minutes or so
3. a kid next door started playing with a huge bouncy ball
4. an old man started whistling along VERY loudly, and not entirely in tune
5. construction started going on down the street
6. sirens and helicopters. this is LA, after all…
so finally we took it to my garage and finished up there.
the san diego and la shows last week with jane and david went so well! both shows sold out! jane and david were AMAZING, as expected, and so much fun to hang out with. playing with the band on saturday’s show (justin young, keith tutt, will gramling) was also really fun and exciting for me. :) thanks for everyone that came out (physically or in spirit!).
one of my best friends from college is on the verge of winning a trip to las vegas! here on the blog, you might know him as gene parmesan :)
he made a very entertaining video about why he deserves to win (he is QUITE the lyricist!) and it made it to the top 3!
if you wanna help him out, here are some directions on how to vote.
not only was john a huge help to me when i was in my own contest back in the day, but he is just a super person and deserves a break. my fingers are crossed!

Wow kina, so much fun watching you, Jane & David at Lestats & am glad you got better. Didn’t think you could sing that many songs because you’re sick, but you sang A LOT!! which was good for us, but not sure for your throat.
