better together

currently… i am 25,036 feet off the ground somewhere over nebraska.

thanks to virgin america i can feed my internet addiction while flying to new york.

the show last week at third street promenade was sooo fun. and the street team meetup was even better.

speaking of the street team– if you haven’t seen it yet– misa made us a home! check it out here:

http://www.kinagrannis.com/streetteam

thank you for all that came out and endured my sappiness. :)

time for some ginger ale, perhaps.

oovret: Week 54

When you cover songs, do you look for guitar tabs or figure them out by ear?
a little bit of both. i find that a lot of tabs out there are seriously flawed, but they give me a starting point, and then i work out the rest.
How many street teamers are there, now?
277!
On average, how many marriage proposals do you receive each week?
oh… hm. 2 or 3? but they’re not serious :)
Do you enjoy listening to Herbie Hancock?
yep.
Are you ready for your song marathon?
oh you still remember that? haaaa. ok, we’ll do it. someday. first i have to remember how to play all my old songs.

You’re just the perfect amount of sappy, Kina.
No endurance necessary.
Saturday was the funnest day ever. I got some great pictures. I’ll put them on the forums at some stage.
Have a great week in New York. Say hi to Misa for us! :D
Great video, too! I like it more than the original. :D (That’s not unusual for your covers, though!)

Since when are you sappy? lol Kina you are by far one of the most gracious individuals I know… and kudos with the new cover. It sounds great!

I sometimes wish Virgin Atlantic was around when I did my heavy traveling. It would have been so awesome to have internet access during those international flights.

New York will be great and although many of us won’t be there, we will still be overjoyed that you and the East Coasters will be able to enjoy the not only your beautiful music but also the Street Team kick-off.

Wonderful song. I’ve always loved it.

How many proposals do other members of the Grannis family get a week?

No shows outside of NYC? The big city is expensive. There’s no emoticon for me playing a sad violin…

Emma, the last one was on-time and this one would’ve been too if it wasn’t for Youtube’s site maintenance last night. Our Kina is on a roll. :-)

Kina, Love your cover. Glad you have internet access in a plane. This song is the 1st song you cover I haven’t heard before. I’m excited to see you perform on the 20th. I guess there’s no meet & greet afterwards since you didn’t note it on your announcement :-( Well, if there’s a chance at all, I’ll come to seek you out & say “Hi”.

Have a great show with David at Hiro.

Kina! I love you for doing this song, thank you! Jack Johnson is one of my favorites, and this is one of his best :)

I was so excited for all the people who got to meet you and everyone else at the ST meet up over there, it was great to see how excited everyone was(especially Sherina and Alison). I was trying to convince my friend and a few others to drive up to NY for his 21st birthday party and goto your concert :( His brother told me he had family flying in from Thailand, so… that is unfortunately a no go. As much as I want to ditch them to meet everyone on the east coast and finally see you in concert, I don’t think it would be right to :( haha. SO, I will have to see everyone another time.

Once again, thanks for the cover, I hope you have a great show in NY!

Hey kina good job on the Jack Johnson cover! Your voice is awesome! My kids and I love listening to you! I been wondering though…There are some really great songs out there especially by 3 Doors down and As Tall As Lions that are tremendous! But you haven’t covered a song from them. You often make a song already out sound 3 times better! well keep up the Great work! Hope to see one of your concerts sometime!

For some reason, I had more fun watching you from the mirror. It’s like I was behind you, but I wasn’t.

Anyways, I’ve always loved the original (or anything by Jack Johnson for that matter), and you definitely put your own original spin on it. Loved it :)

Have fun in NY!

kina! Honestly you cover these sort of songs soo well. The past 5 covers you’ve done i’ve got my guitar out and had a go at playing them! each one of them. Your voice makes them sound so irresistibly good. I can’t say i’m very good at playing but it’s fun anyway. :)

Thanks for bringing the TimTams. I’ll admit to having shown some restraint… and I’m not talking about putting them in the other room and forgetting about them till last night, ‘tho that did happen… I’ve only been taking them two at a time, Dr.’s orders, shared them with the wife, and have one more dose for end-of-day at work tonight.

Good stuff… helps with clearing up the Mind-Cloud.
