stars falling down
hello beloveds!
tomorrow is another mixing day. maybe the last?? maybe?! shouldn’t get my hopes up… but we are so close it’s crazy! i was having some issues with strong enough and stay just a little and i think we FINALLY nailed them. hooray!
what else… oh! last week i had my first real show in like 3 months (by real show i mean with a set long enough that i have time to be awkward between songs) and it was so fun! it was in mission viejo– my hometown– so it was fun because not only were there a bunch of old and new supporters out (including some kg street teamers <3), but there were a lot of friends from high school out too. it almost threw me off for a moment… whenever i think back to those times i am tempted to revert back to the insane level of inhibition i had back then and get really nervous… or i start feeling like i should be running a national honor society meeting (i was president my senior year… meetings were the scariest thing of my life.)
one more thing– having plants in my bedroom makes me happy.
so do you.

oovret: Week 64
Would you consider performing on the subways of New York?
i would love to play the subways of new york :) you need a permit of some sort, yes?
Was Saturday your first flat tire experience?
i’ve had one before. no fun!
Presently, which song do you enjoy performing the most?
that’s a tricky one. valentine is always fun. make me and delicate make me really emotional, so that always feels good too.
Do you enjoy listening to Sufjan Stevens?
love sufjan! so much :)
What would you do for a Klondike Bar?
lately i’ve been wanting one so badly! i don’t even remember the last time i’ve had one… but all these ads nowadays are doing something to me. but uh.. let’s see. for a klondike bar… i might drive to the store and buy one? i guess i don’t want it THAT badly. but i do want it. :)

Wow, i have a really strange feeling…. like realizing your best friend has a twin, with a completely different character. Such a different version, making the song soooo emotional. Love it.
And you never talk too much, just keep it under one hour and i´ll listen to every word you say :)

happy bday misa!
while i personally can’t wait for the album to finish, i wouldn’t mind waiting a bit longer if this acoustic version made it as a bonus track, hint hint =)

Yo Kina…don’t lie now. Who has two thumbs and asked you to play “Stars Falling Down” at The Note in PA and it was then when you realized you could probably think up an acoustic version you can play the next day at Webster Hall in NYC?? THIS GUY

It was great seeing you again, Kina. Seeing you perform is always lovely. Your meet and greet lines are getting so long! But I can stand and look important with a KG Street Team shirt. :)
September 16, 2009
ppsshhh…it was just a trick you had waiting up your sleeve, I’m sure. I was kidding…i take no credit. All you kiddo. Although that WAS quite the ego boost =)
September 16, 2009
I love both versions of Stars Falling Down!
Can’t wait for the album!!!
September 16, 2009
I’ve heard the expression “a voice of a goddess” to describe a beautiful voice, but I think you sound SOOOOO human in this video. And it’s a good thing! I prefer a human girl singing a love song to me to a goddess singing. I’m drawn to your humanness. (Could we please see a “People” tutorial or a “Back to Us” tutorial?)

I don’t think I could ever get to a point where I was like “wow, Kina, seriously, you have spoken WAY TOO MUCH” . One of the very first times I was in the shoutbox, I said “Kina could record herself talking to a tree and I’d buy that.”
How is it possible that you were beyond incredible 3 months ago and I just heard that song and thought “she’s 100 times better than she was 3 months ago” ?
I mean, come on, Kina. You’re making the rest of the world look bad.
The day the album comes will be the best day of the year (after May 30th, obviously).
:) Alison

Hey Kina,
What do you think of Joe Purdy’s ‘Wash Away’?
September 22, 2009
Hi there,
I just discovered you at Youtube and I must say; I fell in love with your voice right away! Combined with your own appearance you become totally goregeous. I hope you become big in the music business so there’s a chance for your music to reach out to Sweden aswell, where I live.
Take care!
September 22, 2009
hay there! i was at work the other day and i received this cute mail from someone named Dr. Grannis and i was really happy to know that your aunt is from Tucumán, i’m from Buenos Aires, but it’s still Argentina!!! woohoooo! also, i’m half japanese too!! but my grandparents were all from Okinawa, i guess u know where that is…
so my biggest problem is that i won’t be able to buy your cd and i don’t know how itunes works and stuff, i’ll manage to get all of your songs because i love them!!! Tell your uncle to bring me one when he comes to buenos aires again! I have a better idea yet: you can come to argentina! That would make my day, and the whole month! Lol!
Kisses and hugs from BA!
September 26, 2009
