blood bank

well, hello there :)

it’s 1:37am and i’m feeling a little spacey. i think i should probably be in bed but alas, i am here glued to my computer. it’s happy here.

so, this is going to be a very fun week! i’ll be writing with two amazing musicians– my extremely talented friend daniel bedingfield and the ridiculously fantastic david archuleta. it’s going to be great! really hoping we come up with some awesome songs for david.

album update:
i finally selected a designer for my album art!! his name is nathan goldman and his work is awesome. check it out here: http://www.dkngstudios.com/ i cannot WAIT to get started with all of this.

also, the album cover photo has been chosen! yayyyy. only took a million awkward pictures to get it, but hey! i also drafted up all of my album credits this weekend. it’s really starting to feel like this is happening :) tomorrow i’ll be sending those off, along with some more photos and all my lyrics, to nathan so he has all the tools he needs to get going with album art. incredibly excited.

zzzz…
ok.. now i’m going to bed.

Thanks Kina, really beautiful song & singing. It just feels a little strange to see the video ahead of schedule… we missed the eager waiting period ;)

Good luck with the song writing. I´d give my right arm (well not really) to see your session with the 2 Ds. Be yourself, and great music will find you.

And, I have to say, I can totally see that designer´s style fitting well for you. Good choice :)

Kina dear,

Hello :) It’s so nice to greet you again :) This cover was very beautifully done :) I found the lyrics to be very insightful and am still in the process of gathering my thoughts to finalize the interpretation of its meaning…it’s so uniquely written.

I’m so glad to hear about your album updates :) You have come so far and you continue to make your dreams come true :) You are such an inspiration to all of us :)

Keep up the good work, you are greatly appreciated :) *hugs*

What a wonderful feeling to come home from studying all day long and to see that there is a new Kina-song up. That made me so very happy again :-D
I just love your song (as always). You’ve got such a beautiful voice.
Good luck with songwriting!

Kina! Another instance of me liking your cover better than the original! Simply beautiful and I love the harmonies. I checked out 3 or 4 other people covering that song on YouTube and it’s just crazy how much more I enjoy your version. It’s not just the added harmonies either…it’s the WAY you sing the song. The feeling you put into it and the way the music just flows from your guitar and voice.

Love it!

Looooved this song! Kina, you have expanded my musical taste by so much all thanks to your marvelous covers. Like Bon Iver. Highly enjoyable.

And I am left curiously wondering who is the birthday shoutout to “Whiskers”!?!?!?! My friends in college used to call me that…. but it is not my birthday. So…. I am left assuming there is another Whiskers in this world. Who knew! If you read this and you know who that Whiskers is, please let me know!!! I am Whiskers, too! hahaha.

Wow your voice! You should really think about quitting smoking :) I’m kidding. I actually kind of liked your voice on this one. It had a sultry feel to it. Rough but still pretty. You never disappoint, nice work. :)

p.s. although I am sad that losing your voice means you can’t reach those high notes you wanted to sing for added harmonies, I do kind of enjoy your husky sound here while talking at the end of the vid. hahaha. it is kind of Kina cute. but I do hope it gets better!

Fist, I thought “Kina finally covered the kind of song I don’t enjoy,” but it’s getting better. It’s because I like your harmonies. They are so wide and strong. Pretty. I like the work of the designer of your album art a lot. Great choice! My imagination of your new album is growing bigger and bigger. I can almost see it. Is your voice better now?

ahhhhh! thanks, Mama G. I feel much better now that I know. And as for me, my friends called me Whiskers because I am “curious like a cat!” (which is from the Will Ferrell SNL sketch which I used to quote constantly).

Another great cover Kina!

Talking about trying high notes and no sound coming out reminded me of singing along with Mariah Carey when I was younger. I’ll still go for the high notes and… nothing! Sure, the neighborhood dogs bark their heads off, but still :)

Oooh! Fancy “Request Deletion” button. Nice work Misa!
