fireflies

hello lovelies.

this week i have my first two rehearsals with my band for the troubadour. fun!! i’ll be playing with keith tutt II on the cello, reade pryor on drums, and jon titterington on keys. don’t all their names make them sound like they’re royalty or something?? i think so. anyway, they are all very talented and i am so excited to play with them all.

recently, i’ve been busy getting in everyone’s merch orders and trying to plan more for the release. now that i’ve committed to a date… i kind of need to make sure things get done. ahh! i’ve been doing some back and forths with my designer too… i should be seeing a mock up for the new website this week!

last week of merch sent by me :(
this friday (dec 11th) i will be passing on my merch packaging and shipping to a company that will do it in a much more timely manner than i. if you want to get a personalized thank you with your order or get a cd or shirt signed, get your order in by friday! if you want something signed, make a note to me in the “additional instructions” section on your paypal order, or immediately send me an email after ordering with your order # and the request! order merch here.

album update

ahhhh! a release date at last!! (i’ll update this later with the info… i don’t want to spoil it for people that want to find out in the video first!)

upcoming show!

oovret: Week 70

Who played, for your first visit to The Troubadour?
Bon Iver
What is the best “pickup line” that has been used on you?

haha… hmm, i’m not sure if “best” means “most effective” or “most entertaining”. in either case… i actually can’t remember any!
Does your computer spend more time on or off?
my computer is never off unless it’s having a problem and i restart it. that’s probably not very good for it, huh? poor computer… so overworked…
Do you enjoy listening to “Monsters of Folk”?
i shall check them out right now.
How fast does a turkey trot? Are you faster?
i’m pretty sure i trot faster than a turkey, but that’s not incredibly fast.

Such a beautiful cover again, Kina. And glad to hear the album name… though i think my choice “eternal eels” would´ve been a pretty cool name too. And finally a release date! So happy for you! And for us! *smiling*

Congrats! Yay!
In honor of the good news and oovret: Week 70, here are my hastily written Kina-based pickup lines…

Message Received.
Are you looking to spend time with someone?
You’re a girl I gotta digg.
If you let me touch your hand, I promise I won’t call it love.
I believe some stars are falling down.
I’ll stay just a lot.
You remind me of a hummingbird.

(I’m really bad at this.)

It’s so weird that you have so little insight on how much joy you bring to me and the rest of the world… and yet we also cannot fathom how much joy we bring to you… just know that it’s A LOT <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Kina! woohoo! Congrats on the release date! I can only imagine how this made you feel, so exciting, happy and just great! Well, that is how I feel :-)

Now I am more curious about the history of your album name. I do recall you looking for some earlier, which could have led to a song perhaps?

The way things are going I am sad that I will probably miss your January show, but it is still ‘a ways away’ so things may change yet. The future is kinda foggy for me atm. Any word yet on whether it will be livestreamed?

Harold’s To-Do list

1. Start planning vacation in February.

2. Save money to buy a butt-load of Kina-merch.

3. Make pick-up lines more memorable.

btw – Everyone needs to check out Monsters of Folk. Really good stuff.

I love how people are so defensive of you in youtube comments. I saw a lot of times where people would say something not even that insulting (like “it’s hard to take this song seriously because the lyrics are silly, but you did a good job with it. great cover.” and someone would reply and say “WHOA who the hell are you to say this song can’t be taken seriously? Kina is an amazing artist and can make any song meaningful. You should watch her original songs, then you’ll see what I mean.” then the original poster will reply and say “WHOA callllmmmm yourself, I just said she did a good job.”

So as long as its before the new extended deadline of awesomeness, could I, say, order a yay hat and have it personalized? Pretty sure you should sell kina-made yay hats for a profit of like… 5000%? I mean, I don’t want to wait too long and be forced to get a company-made, standardized, mass-produced beige yay hat with no fun colors and the word “yay” printed on said hat at a strictly non-exciting angle in courier font…. ^^

But srsly, super stoked for your album! <3
