wowww internet annoys me right now.
1. the wireless at my apartment goes in and out, making youtube uploading basically impossible. after attempting to upload my video for a few hours at home, i drove to a coffee shop to use their wifi. it was closed, so i’m sitting outside the front door outside. i’ve been here for two hours. the video will NOT load. meanwhile emi is waiting for me in my very unpacked apartment. i am still congested and mildly sick and my farewell show is tomorrow. :( sometimes things work out unfortunately. *sigh* i promise that i will try to get the video up sometime tomorrow. for now i have to get back to the apartment and back to the packing (and the sister). i am so so so sorry to let you all down!
2. leaving austin is extremely sad. this city is so incredible. i’ve met so many amazing people and i am going to miss them so much!! i guess that just means i have to come back. often. i could go all out about my austin-love, but it might get cheesy and then i might cry (not that you’d know!!).
3. miko is in a contest!! we are good at this– go vote!!

and I think I speak for Austin when I say that the feeling is mutual: we’ll miss you too! maybe next time around you’ll stay for longer than 6 months ;)
oh yeah, don’t worry about the video for now. I mean, I’d love to see it but I don’t want you stressing out about it, with all that packing you still have to do….

Kina thanks for trying so hard for us! I’ll welcome a blog entry anytime you get a chance but don’t feel you are ever letting us down. This site should feel like fun and not work. Thank you for caring enough to try so hard today/tonight.

just curious…did someone teach you how to play guitar or are you self taught?? i’ve been teaching myself and i can only do songs that go 1 string at a time cause i cant strum more than 1 string at a time or else i hit pretty much all the other strings when im not suppose to lol…

Boo for spotty wi-fi internet. Oh well. Personally, I wouldn’t mind a midweek update, considering you’re still in Austin. You should just go and continue to have as much fun while you’re still there =). Thanks for trying for us though.
Hope you have lots of fun at your *sniff* farewell show *sniff*. When you’re on stage, you should take a camera and take one last picture of all of your wonderful fans that come to the show, so you won’t forget it. That’d be cool.
Oh, and awesome non-enthusiastic picture by the way =P.

Thanks for giving it a good try, even driving to a coffee shop. Youtube usually has maintenance around 10:00 PM PST if they are going to have maintenance so it could have been something not working on their side. The funny picture can tide us over for now. Hope you’ll get better soon.

I sense panic over the video. Ironically, this worry doesn’t come from us, your fans and friends, but you! As chessy as it is seems to say I am both touched and awed by your dedication to this community. Thanks for being so much more than an amazing musician; thanks for being an amazing person.
In short, in a crazy way, the fact you’re worried makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside because I can tell you care!

oh kina, you don’t let us down. you gave us: twoweeksforkina, moreweeksforkina, studio recordings of songs, webcam recordings of songs including songs that you haven’t even released yet on a cd, live shows, a music video, making of a music video, shout outs, birthday wishes, grannis family involvement, footage from your victory, and most importantly, to me at least: a chance to interact with the realest kina grannis.
trust me, we can probably wait forever for a video from you and be more than satisfied. you know how it is, normally, your inspiration turns all hollywood on you. but nope, not you. i can’t remember the last time inspiration ran to closed coffee shops for me. = )
blah that was so corny haha.
so no stress. just get unsick for your show tomorrow. who knows, maybe in the future, you’ll get a welcome back show from Austin, in return.

kina, you never let us down. it’s already amazing that you do this for us once a week [and sometimes more!] theres nothing else we could ask for. you are unbelievable. the people that inspire me are always the people that are real no matter where they are. and that’s why you’re such a huge inspiration to me! …on that note, i still can’t believe you sat outside the coffee shop door trying to upload the video. what can we say. you’re simply amazing.

Seriously Kina, don’t waste so much time next time! We understand! We are a patient group and can wait. Your life and health and sleep and time-spent-with-Emi always has to come first.
Believe me, we appreciate how hard you tried to get the vid uploaded, but it’s all good…we’ll see it eventually. Time flies when you’re having fun…and this group always has fun! Remember…we EAK’s (Early Adopters of Kina)/Kinaddicts/Kinerds/Kinatos/Kinateers etc. etc. appreciate any and all contact- doesn’t have to always be a new video. Though we love them!

no other successful and well known musician i know is as dedicated and thoughtful to her fans as kina.

as i said in the previous blog to mama g, we should all chip in to buy you an aircard, it is wireless internet wherever you go…
not so much for us, but when you are going to tour and stuck at airports, etc you have unlimited internet haha.
but yeah, no other musician does for their fans what you do for us…
and i super super love you for #3. you’re so thoughtful towards us…

Everyone’s so forgiving and gracious and accomodating. What the heck? Where’s the accountability? Where’s the outrage? My boss is the same way, and it kills me, because I have to be entirely self-motivated. But don’t worry Kina, I won’t fail you in this regard. Ahem….
You’re a dreadful terrible person. Nevermind sleep, nevermind real life, nevermind time-sensitive tasks; I do not accept excuses. I want my money back. I had a very specific five-minute block scheduled today for watching the Kina blog, and now what will I do with the time (besides leave cantankerous comments)? My whole day is ruined. Woe am I

Wow, it’s been a while since I’ve actually said something. However, I have been checking the blog rather often, in case of the occasional non-monday posting.
But I must say, thanks for going out of your way to try to make an effort to upload the video… I’m sure alot of your fans would have been happy just with the post and apology, but you went above and beyond that.

wow, i love you so much! you totally don’t have to do anything for us and yet you do anything and everything just to give your fans love! “it goes without saying” (haha miko), that you are THE most amazing musician out there. genuine, fo sho.
that pic is awesome. i take too many of those kinds of pics. “those kinds” being the “oh we’re getting our picture taken, i’m not sure if i should smile or make a face” kinds. so it just turns out to be an “awkward face.” it’s the best. everyone should do it from now on.

i think ur absolutely amazing and i wish i had a voice like u do! im an alright singer (if u want u can check out my videos) and am playing sandy in my school musical grease this year. but i really wish i could do soooo much better! but yer just wanted to say i think ur a fantastic singer and u’ve got an amazing personality as well.
