i might be crazy
but i’m not insane. and i know all of YOU know that, but i’m not so sure that the rest of the world will know that after watching today’s post.
i wish i had realized WHILE i was recording that at no point during the song can you really see that i am wearing a dress. i wish i had also realized that people are going to be totally weirded out by me! but hey… so it goes. live and learn.
in other news, i’ve eaten too many peeps today, and they weren’t even stale. big mistake.
no judging. ok, you can judge, but just remember that it’s the same kina hidden behind that colorful mascara-covered face.
i wrote a song two days ago called “heart and mind”. what is it with me and hearts!? anyway, i’m super excited about it. perhaps i will be sharing it will you all sometime soon :)

Well, happy Tuesday everyone :) I started looping this song when I got home today, I’m kinda crazy about this song at the moment. I also shared it with my wife and she thinks it’s good too! It’s tough to please my wife because she’s into the poppiest band of them all, the Backstreet Boys lol.
Nothing wrong with that… the Grannis girls sang a lot of Backstreet Boys back in the day. They had fun harmonies.

Yes, the Backstreet Boys…you learn to appreciate them after your younger sister blasts them through high school and then you meet your wife and she’s into them too and even go to their concert. They actually have some great songs, though, fun ones to karaoke to. I’ve just always been more into female vocals, and your daughter is way at the top of my favorites :)

Well, when I say looping, I really mean just adding it onto your youtube playlist a million times and just do a “play all”. If there’s another way that anyone has figured out, please do share ;)
You made me research this one. I found out that when you put Kina’s video on your blog, myspace etc., and use the embed code for it in youtube and add (without the quotation mark) “&autoplay=1″ and/or “&loop=1″ at the end of the URL, the video will play automatically and/or loop. I hope I explained myself well. English is my second language and I’m still working on my grammar. Here’s the link though.

You know, once I heard Kina’s music (Gotta Digg), it sparked something in me to get over my severe writer’s block. That “I’m not afraid to do anything” kind of mentality pushed me to do that Strong Enough Remix, Next Time Remix, and eventually other original songs. So, thanks for more than just the compliment. I’m really in awe at all the positive feedback this video has gotten. = )
The song was written in one night. once I received the CDs from Kina and heard the song, I was like “wow, this one is amazing”. I originally wrote to it as an original song (for another beat, but the lyrics inspired by her song). It didn’t really work well as an original, considering I couldn’t think of a chorus that would fit it better than Kina’s. So I decided to keep it a remix. That’s one night. haha
The video took a little less than a month from when the idea popped into my head to last tuesday when I released it. Most visual effects were done in Final Cut Pro, but some scenes like “the screen with the eyes” and “this life this land lyrics on the ticker” required Adobe After Effects, which I’m still not so proficient in, but this project helped me to learn some more techniques. Almost every scene is made up of multiple videos, whether they’re visible or not.
The best part was doing the verses almost double speed to achieve the slow motion swings effect. haha
anyway, i’ll keep this short. Glad you liked it! I’ll be sending the DVD soon!

Man I’m so behind in the Office, I used to watch that show all the time. Must catch up one of these days. I’m glad I’m not the only one that bites the Nerds. I was feeling about the same way when they were staring at me. Like what planet are they from? So how is a “nerd rope” different from a box of Nerds? I always ate them from the tiny boxes (have to eat like 5 of them to be satisfied).
Think of a thin gummy worm like a foot long. and then stick a bunch of nerds on em. that’s a nerds rope. you eat it exactly the way you would.
