i might be crazy
but i’m not insane. and i know all of YOU know that, but i’m not so sure that the rest of the world will know that after watching today’s post.
i wish i had realized WHILE i was recording that at no point during the song can you really see that i am wearing a dress. i wish i had also realized that people are going to be totally weirded out by me! but hey… so it goes. live and learn.
in other news, i’ve eaten too many peeps today, and they weren’t even stale. big mistake.
no judging. ok, you can judge, but just remember that it’s the same kina hidden behind that colorful mascara-covered face.
i wrote a song two days ago called “heart and mind”. what is it with me and hearts!? anyway, i’m super excited about it. perhaps i will be sharing it will you all sometime soon :)
now i must go digest some sugar. if that’s possible. bleh.

Oh goodness… I have to just throw in one thing before I go to bed tonight. I was looking at a couple of the comments on Youtube about the video, and I have to agree with them…..
When your face first popped up, I seriously thought something bad happened, like you were a victim of some random violence or something. Well, thank goodness it was nothing like that.
And don’t worry, I think we all have long days where we just want to go a little crazy in the end =).

Hooray for Mondays! Wow Kina, this song reminds me of the days I did some synthesizer class in high school. Of course, my songs ended up more belonging to a video game or something (no vocals). Great look lol, it actually looks kinda cute, no really. I can see you doing this at a concert at like the mid-section to change it up a bit. This could be your most mainstream song yet, despite the very different sound. Reminds me of the 80’s for some reason. LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE SO FAR ;)

this one is soooo fun! i love these kinds of just random kind of “i’m just gonna have fun” videos. that’s what the ’strong enough’ remix was, hehe. the song is great too, it reminds me of… “Fallen From the Sky” from Once. That fun synth sounding. And probably the title too. ok i guess the word of the day is ‘fun’! = )

Is anyone else getting e-mails from Crash the Superbowl contest saying they were chosen as a potential winner? They want all my info so they can send a $10 iTunes gift card. The thing is I am wondering if they are just sending this to everyone so they can send out some snail spam. The keyword being “potential” is what is making me think this. I know it’s an official e-mail so it’s not phishing.

You made me research this one. I found out that when you put Kina’s video on your blog, myspace etc., and use the embed code for it in youtube and add (without the quotation mark) “&autoplay=1″ and/or “&loop=1″ at the end of the URL, the video will play automatically and/or loop. I hope I explained myself well. English is my second language and I’m still working on my grammar. Here’s the link though.

I should add, I love the sentence “it seemed like a good idea at the time”. It sorta sums up life, or most of it. I had a history class where the prof loved to tell us “today’s problems are yesterday’s solutions, but of course…” and the class got to chorus “it seemed like a good idea at the time”

You’re right, I haven’t seen him in a while. Maybe he’s just busy? Photo work tends to do that. Heck, I just had a photoshoot today, it was supposed to be an hour or less… it ended up stretching into 3.
Hopefully he hasn’t left. Then who’d be Kina’s unofficial photographer?
Would we have to elect an unofficial unofficial photographer in his place?

I think I remeber you playing with this when I visited you in Austin, but maybe I’m crazy, and I remember you thinking it was so fun but you weren’t sure if you could ever take it seriously. hey kina! omfg….. what happened to your face?! nah, jk! the song is very nice but i personly think that you should take away the music in the background, its not BAD, but it kinda distracts your attention away from your voice. I’m really in awe at all the positive feedback this video has gotten. = )
The song was written in one night. once I received the CDs from Kina and heard the song, I was like “wow, this one is amazing”. I originally wrote to it as an original song (for another beat, but the lyrics inspired by her song). It didn’t really work well as an original, considering I couldn’t think of a chorus that would fit it better than Kina’s. So I decided to keep it a remix. That’s one night. haha
The video took a little less than a month from when the idea popped into my head to last tuesday when I released it. Most visual effects were done in Final Cut Pro, but some scenes like “the screen with the eyes” and “this life this land lyrics on the ticker” required Adobe After Effects, which I’m still not so proficient in, but this project helped me to learn some more techniques. Almost every scene is made up of multiple videos, whether they’re visible or not.
The best part was doing the verses almost double speed to achieve the slow motion swings effect. haha
anyway, i’ll keep this short. Glad you liked it! I’ll be sending the DVD soon!
