i’m sorry i couldn’t give you all a heads up sooner that the blog was going to be up late. i’m in a tricky situation because i’m still not fully moved in to my new apartment and i have no internet access. so i record in one place, edit in another, and ultimately, post somewhere else. i spent the day recording and editing, then rushed to a starbucks to upload it before my rehearsal, but it didn’t finish in time and i had to leave. unfortunately the rehearsal space had no internet either, so i couldn’t upload it there either or post a heads up. luckily i can twitter from my cell phone… but that only reaches about… no one. :( i’m so sorry. i also missed seeing off my friend that was visiting from new zealand in all the craziness!! i was just one of those days… thank you all for being understanding though. i will try better to be on time. i have a feeling that once i am moved in things will be a lot easier for me.
in other news– the rehearsal was great (minus the discomfort of knowing that every minute it went on was another minute my post would be postponed). it was with the two bands i’ll be playing with at hotel cafe on the 25th– lady danville and the payphones. we’ll all be collaborating at the end of the night. it should be fun :)
tomorrow i am headed up to santa barbara to take some pictures with emi and perhaps record some singing for a future blog! wednesday i’ll be writing with rich jacques again and then having another rehearsal. thursday i need to catch up on sending out cds and tshirt orders, then i am attending a show at the mint! friday i leave for denver to go to the mile high music festival where i will hopefully do some networking in addition to hearing some wonderful music. the festival runs through sunday night, and my flight home leaves at 2pm and doesn’t get home until 8PM, and then i go straight to a rehearsal! i’m not quite sure how i will pull this off. hopefully sunday night after the festival i will have some time to blog… though i dont have my own hotel room so that might be difficult. i’m just giving you a super heads up… that my next monday is a little crazy, but i’m going to do what i can to get it done.
i hope this tutorial makes sense to you all! i think it should be pretty simple even if you’re a beginner. maybe you could pull it off even if you don’t play guitar. :) that would be fun. then we could all be a band someday!! haha.

I think I will do a piano cover of it. I was just messing around with it and I think I could make it sound pretty cool on piano. :) If you get a chance you should do a How To of Stay Just a Little. Love that one.

This tutorial amazes me, how such few chords can be turned into such a unique and amazing song. The late post didn’t bother me at all, I was actually up at 2:30 but wandered off and did something else so I couldn’t watch the video until now. Mama G told everyone how Kina stresses over the bla(h)g’s every week and I laughed because she makes it seem so simple to be so funny. Anyways great tutorial, and I think the other memebers of the Grannis family should get some love, heres to Mama G, Dr G, Misa, and Emi: you are the GREATEST family in the world, take a spot in politics because I sware you guys could rule the world. Or if you can’t do that continue on in your normal lives, those are equally amazing also haha.

I think I am liking your maestra videos quite a lot. I like how you take the time to make sure you are clear, patience is a critical trait for teaching. … and it looks like you did it on one take, a very long one too, well done. Heh, I may have to “borrow” my brother’s guitar.

I godda tell you its the very first time I hear of you and this is how it started:
I was on myspace and heard the song Im yours by Jason Mraz and fell in love with it and saw it on youtube andd gues what, or shall I say “who”, popped up ? Thats right, you! And i was like wow lol this was like 3 hours ago though! Cz u were so good I started watching more videos clicked here clicked there, and bam. Somehow ended up here watching your awesome videos and readig your blogs. I love what you do and I can’t wait to buy your songs on itunes! Its 6:06 am though and I godda wake up in a few hrs to go to work! (my first job! Second day-Steak n Shake) lol its fun. So I was in my basement and while I was grabbing a mango out of the fridge I hear my dad singing Message From Your Heart in the next room. I guess I left the tutorial video up and he ended up watching it. It was an odd/shweet experience especially since my mom had no idea what was going on when my dad and I started singing different parts of the song. Good times.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up:
Kina’s in Denver at the Mile High Music Festival (check out her Twitter for some tidbits of her activity!), she won’t be getting back until late Monday, and I know she has meetings on Tuesday. Last week was an extremely busy week, so I don’t know if she had time to put a video together. All this meaning: there might be a post Monday…. or Tuesday……? I’m forewarning you so you don’t stay up until all hours waiting for it! Get some sleep… check in the AM :)
