I’ve got to agree that your reactions are amazing and I enjoy listening to the background music. My favorite had to be your rendition of The More We Get Together. Loved it.
Thank you so much for liking my handwriting. It’s usually horrid but I guess I was having an off day. Again, I apologize for the unneeded longness that is my letter and while I still do not have a capo, I am in the process of learning Message From Your Heart. Here’s to hoping I do it justice.
@ Ansley
the gifts that Kina showed us were so cool, your painting was really nice keep up with that.
Always good to get to see more Kina any day of the week. Everytime Kina goes to the post office it must be like a mini christmas with all the cool gifts she gets, I’m jealous haha.
Sidenote: anyone remember the show Kina did over the web on LCR??? I was bored and decided to go back to there site and they are officially done with webshows for a while at least, kind of sad. I wanted to see Kina go back on there and this time perform more songs and less talking.
Glad you received the Apple stuff without any of it breaking. I’m sorry I didn’t have a chance to put in a card or note of appreciation but I’ve been busy at work. Hopefully in the future I’ll be able to include a nice card when I send some other goodies. Hmmm, I wonder if my choc chip cookies would survive a trip if they were sent to your p.o. box??
Yup those Pens and Mugs are from the Company Store on Apple’s Campus in Cupertino. There’s lots of other goodies there but Kina and Company will have to come pick out the rest themselves :-p . (am I shamelessly trying to coax the Grannis(es) to come to Nor Cal again to do another show or what?)
Pft, I can top that. I’m sending Kina a new car. And an island off the coast of Switzerland. Take that, “Jason.” Now everything else we send to Kina will pale in comparison. Thanks a lot, “Buddy.” You ruined it for everyone.
Kina, your ice cream man reminds me of my ice cream man from when I was younger. I live on this little culdosac next to a park, and when my friend and I would be at either of our houses we would always hear him from across the park. We were almost never fast enough to catch him, and once in a blue moon when he would come down our street, we would either not be there, or not be in a position to come outside.
Now when I’m older and have no money he comes down our street all the time.
:/
One of these days I’ll catch him and buy an ice cream in your honor.
Kina’s right…if there something someone really wants to pursue(eg. music career), then definitely you should go for it…as long as it doesn’t bring harm to oneself or others. You have to do what will make you happy instead of being stuck w/ a boring job….doesn’t matter if it pays well…:)
@Gregory Mignon
Or as Bush likes to say…”we like to fragilificate stuff he-he”…j/k
@Kina
Wow…so many cool stuff…did someone actually make that heart card? Have fun in CO!
I tried Takoyaki for the first time today and mannn…it was good!
Remember when ice cream cones were .25 cents for a single scoop and .50 cents for a double? My favorite one was the multicolored (yes i’m straight) snow cone…
@kina
my postcard probably made absolutely no sense!! haha but you’re such a nice person anyway :). you got so many fun things!!! a keyboard?! whaaat?! someone is super nice! i love the songs in the background! oh and you would seriously like it here… there are lizard/gecko things EVERYWHERE. oh and i’m extremely scared of them…. haha :(
i haven’t had ice cream from the ice cream truck in forever!! the truck barely ever comes down our road.. and then when it did and we were little, our parents took way too long to get money, so it’d be gone already! so sad! :(
Just wanted to give everyone a heads-up:
Kina’s in Denver at the Mile High Music Festival (check out her Twitter for some tidbits of her activity!), she won’t be getting back until late Monday, and I know she has meetings on Tuesday. Last week was an extremely busy week, so I don’t know if she had time to put a video together. All this meaning: there might be a post Monday…. or Tuesday……? I’m forewarning you so you don’t stay up until all hours waiting for it! Get some sleep… check in the AM :)
i checked out the lineup once i saw her twitter post and dude! i thought seeing lupe and the roots and dmb and john mayer would be awesome but.. TOM PETTY too?! thats like the ultimate bonus.
“sigur ros: heima”… i saw that on sundance.
they are a very interesting/versatile(?) band… that rock marimba is amazing.
the cinematography is fantastic, great views of iceland.
and the grandma story at the end.. hahaha
the mandolin sounded really good on heart and mind.
@steph
my parents pulled that one on us too. “wait for me to get money…….. the ice cream truck’s gone? oh, well maybe next time.”
Wow so today is monday and i was like oh hey kinnas video should be up! and it wass! and i agree u did look like a little kid at christmas time opening up presents =) cute!
I love your music and hope to some day hear you perform..maybe you can come down to Florida for some singing =) and perhaps go to Disney World! Since you have never been there before, what a shame ! lol
Libia that wasn’t the Monday movie. This is the movie she posted on Friday. We might get another one later. It will be a little late though considering how busy Kina is today. So come back later and you should get another treat!
yay thats so cool you acctually got my letter (i wasnt sure if you would get it or not lol) thats really cool that u like hearing from your fans and i will try and buy some cds (when i get the money lol)
Your answer to how to turn singing into more than a hobby is so true! If you’ve ever heard of Trent Tomlinson he is a country singer who is on the radio quite often now. He grew up in Kennet, Missouri which is about 45 minutes from me (Sheryl Crow is from there as well).
When I was working at the factory with dad one of the guys I worked with said his parents watched him when he was younger, and he would write songs as a hobby until a few years ago he took a chance and pursued it as a career. If he hadn’t kept at it he may be where he is now, so your dead on :) ok back to finish the video!
I remember the ice cream truck from when I lived in MI before moving here to Arkansas when I was only 5. I remember having to walk about a block and half to meet it, an I remember I usually got this ice cream shaped like Snoopy’s head…
You should post a video on YouTube of the first song you wrote (Confide in me). You said it wasn’t the best, but it would show where you started and give those starting out something to relate too as well. :)
This is kind of a long comment, but then again it was kind of a long video ;).

Hi Kina,
Very Interesting: you wrote “FRAGILE” on your boxes, like in France.
When do you come In France ? I will be there ;)
Lovely,

@TimR-
Yup those Pens and Mugs are from the Company Store on Apple’s Campus in Cupertino. There’s lots of other goodies there but Kina and Company will have to come pick out the rest themselves :-p . (am I shamelessly trying to coax the Grannis(es) to come to Nor Cal again to do another show or what?)
