more i forgot to talk about!!!!
**************************
1. a lot of you are bringing up the video of message from your heart from my hotel cafe show. it was one of the neatest things ever. the place was sold out, so there were about 170 people there, and i swear, not THAT many people didn’t sing. so imagine somewhere over 100 people singing, practically in perfect tune, the bum bums. yeah. i wanted to cry. so freaking amazing. i love people.
2. i forgot what number two was but i think it was important.
3. marathon training is going well! last sunday i ran 11.5 miles! now i just have another 15 or so miles to tack onto the end of that…. haha. fundraising is going well too. i think i’m going to have a benefit show in august or september and just put all of the door charge to my Team in Training account for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. i think that’d be fun.
4. i finally set up my stickam.com account. that means we can start having live shows!! and everyone all of the world can be there together in one chat room! go sign up so you will be ready when the day comes. here’s my page: http://www.stickam.com/profile/kinagrannis
5. why do have i have a cold?
6. i will be 23 really soon. i feel weird about that.
7. i just want to keep going now, but i cant think of things to say.
8. fine. you’re cool. bye.

July 28th, 2008 at 11:56 pm
ah, the awesomeness of Mondays. Great song, Kina. What a great way to end the day. And apparently, sounding like JHSKJDHJSHDJHSD isn’t always a bad thing.
@Code2Mind
I didn’t realize (doh!) Happy Birthday, man.
July 28th, 2008 at 11:57 pm
haha.. you got me, with that mic in the shot…
you sounded good, but yeah, internal mic=JHSKJDHJSHDJHSD

July 29th, 2008 at 1:25 am
Yay, another Colbie Caillat song. One of my favorites because it has so much emotion in it. Which you captured with your lovely voice once again Kina. Thanks for these monday updates, they really get my week flowing.
Bubaai
July 29th, 2008 at 1:31 am
Love the song. Colbie is one of my favorites. Like always you did an amazing job.
That’s such a professional looking mic. You are now in the big leagues! Haha, Just kidding. You’ve been there for a long time. ^_^
July 29th, 2008 at 1:33 am
Ahhhh..
kina-san has been Japan. then, Which city have you visited ?
I guess that it was Tokyo.
July 29th, 2008 at 2:19 am
this website is my new blog site.
I would like to introduce Japan to somebody.
July 29th, 2008 at 2:31 am
Wait, is that a birthday shoutout for me? Cuz my birthday’s not for a while, haha. I know I’m not the only timmy out there :).
And if JHSKJDHJSHDJHSD= wonderful, then you’re absolutely right, it does sound like that.
July 29th, 2008 at 3:26 am
I must say I don’t like it verry much. I heard better songs by Kina. But it can be. Everything is good if I just see Kina’s smiling face;)
July 29th, 2008 at 6:34 am
That sounded Fantastic Kina.
yay I’m finally able to post again!
I really like that song by Colbie, she’s great. BUt not as great as you Kina! :)
Huggs,
Jen :)
July 29th, 2008 at 7:09 am
I was hoping you would sing another song by Colbie… I love it!
:]
I woke up with that song by the Weepies that you sang with Emi, in my head.
July 29th, 2008 at 7:21 am
yeah, you’re absolutely right, kina…
except JHSKJDHJSHDJHSD = amazing.
stay safe!
yooooooooooooooooooooooo your congratulations REALLY freaked me out for 5 seconds. haha..
and on that note: CONGRATS!
July 29th, 2008 at 7:42 am
Bahahahhaahaha the baby song. This one always cracks me up for some reason. I don’t know…just…starting a song with the words “she’s got a baby inside” seems kind of weird. And a little gross, but I think a lot of things are gross.
July 29th, 2008 at 9:46 am
:)
July 29th, 2008 at 9:47 am
Haha Misa I love you lol.
July 29th, 2008 at 10:00 am
haha misa i completely agree. quite weird/gross to start a song with that line
but kina’s voice is beautiful nevertheless :)
July 29th, 2008 at 10:49 am
Yeah, maybe it’s because I’m not a girl or a father (an uncle though), but this song just doesn’t do much for me. And no talking in this video. And, I might have mentioned this once or twice, but I pine for other Grannises.
Happily I have come up with a cure for all my ills: Debate. While distance may keep you from singing together, it will not prevent you from recording a debate in the classic introductory statement, rebuttal, closing statement format. You guys can record your arguments via video, and then send them across the country. It’ll be brilliant. For an opening topic, may I propose “Having a baby inside: gross or not gross” or “Who would win in a fight: Leonardo the Ninja Turtle or Sailor Moon”. Please? I miss pretending I’m friends with Grannises of the non-Kina variety :)
July 29th, 2008 at 11:11 am
It was beautiful Kina, you sang with such emotion I don’t know why you think it sounded bad at all!! It sounded amazing, as usual.
Very very pretty song, I’ve actually never heard it before.
I’m sorry you have a cold. That sucks.
And see, you’ve never even BEEN to Idaho, so you definitely have to come up sometime and do a show. That way you can check it off the list.
Oh, and 23 is ok. Just like 22 except older heheh. Of course. It’s a good age if you ask me. :D
July 29th, 2008 at 11:26 am
23 is better than 22… well so far. look forward to it!
July 29th, 2008 at 12:15 pm
yay to more stickam shows.
great job @ hotel cafe. i just watched the video.
July 29th, 2008 at 1:54 pm
kina ! if youre still in southern cali, i hope you and your family are okay ! that earthquake was a lil shaky, it was mainly in chino hills (where i live) & i know you live near there; i really hope youre okay, please be careful. sincerely, jeffreyy
July 29th, 2008 at 2:34 pm
Whoa, 23! Just 7 years to get in some worry practice ready for the lack of baby panic at 30 - no wonder you feel weird about it musica careerist! (Bad comment villain exits to sounds of fiendish laughter, whilst alter ego character steps in with dregs of good within and leaves the following in the hope that it may be of use to some within the bla(h)g)

Bon soir.
July 29th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
hahaha misa, i never really thought about how funny that opening line is. now im just gonna crack up every time i hear that song.
July 29th, 2008 at 2:47 pm
@kina
How about you introduce your new guitar to us? I can only see a treble pickup that looks like a TVJonesGretsch/DeArmond type!
July 29th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
@ misa i’ve always been weirded out by this song - when i initially saw the title “capri” i thought it was going to be about italy
@ kina coldeeeeze!
July 29th, 2008 at 3:52 pm
The forum doesn’t understand maths answered in French, so I’m now designated ‘not human’ = I’m even more individual now that I’m classified as an alien - I suppose it’s alright to be an alien that isn’t illegal, or has that changed along with the descriptors for being human!
Bon nuit!
July 29th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
congratulations to the happy couple! At least, I hope they’re happy! On second thought, though, even though I’m sure Kina was asked to break the news this way, it almost seems like a cruel joke. Here’s to hoping the guy is ready for a kid. Anyway, enough of my BS. Congratulations once again!
Nice job as always Kina!! Even though the mic wasn’t on we could hear and understand your perfectly. Honestly, even though better sound quality would be nice, it’s not necessary. Watching the blog every week is like inviting someone to play in your living room — musicians usually don’t bring mics to jam sessions. While that may be an added touch for some, I could take it or leave it. Then again, I haven’t heard the difference yet. So, maybe I should save my judgment until after I do.
I’m so very excited about the prospect of doing live shows. I’ve been a champion of this from the very beginning and finally it’s about to happen. I can’t wait! I will be the first “online.” Get it, “online?” please see the following website in order to enhance that joke: http://instantrimshot.com/
July 29th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
Aww this song was amazingly cute!!
and congrats on the baby!!!!!! to ryan
July 29th, 2008 at 5:27 pm
ajsea, were you in last week’s show with david choi?
July 29th, 2008 at 5:33 pm
Brought tears to my eyes… just found out this week that we can’t have kids ourselves. It’s good to see that others are more fortunate.
Cherish them, for they are the rare stars shining in a sea of light.
Congratulations to the happy couple, Lyn and Ryan, and thank you Kina for the beautiful song this week.
July 29th, 2008 at 6:13 pm
i love the new song and it def didnt sound like LKJSFJASDFKJASLDJ lol
yay for kina turning 23 soon! it’s okay, 23 is the new 18? uh uh….yeah.
loved the show with you and choi, it was so funny and you guys are seriously so hilarious together. it’d be cool if he performed with you in one of your showssss—actually it would be crazyyyy, but the good kind of crazy of course :)
hope the earthquake didnt shake you up too much, i was in santa ana when it happened so the walls were shaking back and forth…yeah…that was fun…not.
have a great week and i look forward to another vid! and hopefully another concert before i leave to go back to school???????? *nods*

July 29th, 2008 at 8:01 pm
Kina,
Thank you for making the drive home through the desert worth it. That was a show to be remembered.
PfiDC.
p.s. We sat next to your parents, it was pretty cool meeting them ^.^
July 29th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Kina, all of those empty keys and no shout out to Senator, lol. Is that the keyboard you opened in your video recently? Great song. Time to listen to it again.
July 29th, 2008 at 9:40 pm
23 isn’t so bad…I’ve been doing it for about 6 months :)
Really heartwarming video :)
July 29th, 2008 at 10:19 pm

July 29th, 2008 at 10:55 pm
random but
1985 rules = )
birthday story: i’m old and don’t get presents anymore, but on the exact morning of my 23rd birthday in may, i got, in the mail, two fresh pairs of Air Jordans (23rd year, 23rd sneaker), inside the box, a giant picture of him and his jersey, with the numero 23. The sneakers were the Air Jordan 6 and Air Jordan 17 (6+17=23).
Kina, if the stars ain’t aligned and 23 ain’t the best, I don’t know what is.
typed that with my eyes half closed. night!
July 30th, 2008 at 12:09 am
That was good; although unintentional, the occasional flashes add a nice touch… kinda ironic in the sense of guardian angels… Congrats to the mom to be!
Let’s see, where to start…
Kina, you need to travel and see the world someday! With the appreciation you have for the day to day, I can only imagine for someone like you, each journey would be a wonder. If you write a journal you could also write up your memoirs/book of your life (thinking long term ;-)
I missed your live video chat the other day, it’s cool that you can now hold your own private concerts… and if there is no lag then Misa and Emi can join you too.
Go Kina with the running and the idea of donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. You have such a generous heart. All the more reason to go to your concerts!
23 years young.. after 21 nothing worthwhile until you reach 25 and then you count the number of anniversaries of your 25th birthday. :-D
July 30th, 2008 at 12:46 am
a LITTLE off-topic, Glenn, but we need more puppy pictures!
July 30th, 2008 at 8:14 am
yay! video blog is fun!! too bad i don’t have a video camera anymore… i have no idea what happened to it! and i wish i had a mac! :(
23 is nothing. not like i’d know, but just remember that no matter your age, i’m sure you’ll always be amazing. even at like 90, you’ll be rocking it :)
oh.. and i just got over a cold too!!…actually i’m at like the very tail end of it. i hate colds!!
@mama g/glenn
i totally agree about more puppy pictures!!!
oh and mama g, talking about puppies, esp those super cute ones, is never off topic :)
July 30th, 2008 at 10:47 am
lol, I see the puppies have fans… no worries, there are more pics on the way… even a surprise or two as well ;-)
July 30th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
Kina, you’re amazing. Not only can you run like a champ, you can sing too! ;-) See you on Sunday.

Week 14: Birthday Edition!
Looking back on your 23rd year, what would you say was:
your greatest accomplishment?
your biggest failure?
your happiest moment?
your most depressing moment?
Looking forward, what are your goals for your 24th year?
Wishing you the best birthday, yet.
August 2nd, 2008 at 4:47 am
hahaha, lookit. you made JHSKJDHJSHDJHSD everyone’s fave new sound.
August 2nd, 2008 at 2:21 pm
@ Kina This is the message given re your original playlist:-
“Message From Your Heart- Original *Available on iTunes*
Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe’s Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.”
It’s way better to be 23 than not 2B, so go hell4leather 2NjyIt on Monday jstBcsUcn8D
August 2nd, 2008 at 3:01 pm
@ Kina
PS the original videos don’t work there either, but they do here so something’s afoot, and if your account is one that recieves remuneration per click, it’s already losing you the 0.000whatever/click you should be getting!
PPS By the way, when I wrote hell4leather, I did not mean this sort of Njymnt 2b included, as I’d like to look forward to being able to buy your next CD too:-

@sabafa
That message is usually seen on mobile phones when trying to view YouTube content. If you are on a mobile, you have to use the mobile version of YouTube, usually linked at the bottom of the page.
If you aren’t using a mobile device, I am totally lost. Very weird to be able to view the covers but not the originals.
Sorry :(
August 3rd, 2008 at 4:16 am
Hey Kina,
nice little ditty there.
Got your Cds in the mail along with some stickers *thumbs up* and you personalise the packages too *double thumbs up*
Also i thought it would have taken a little while longer to get to the land down under. Lovin’ the tunes - finally got a chance to have a full listen them all, great tunes to unwind to.
Hopefully you get down to Australia one day too (it seems to be a major omission from your list :P)
Good Luck with the marathon training - hopefully its more successful than my lame attempt to get fit again in my alcohol free month of July.
Cheers
chris.
P.S. are you a fan of caramel? if so, you may get a package in your PO box :P
August 3rd, 2008 at 6:07 am
@ Dr G
Thank you for responding Dr G:)
I wish this device was just a mobile phone, but unfortunately it is a nightmarishly renegade Sony Vaio which has just minutes ago been refusing to emit sound without the mute being deployed!/?/:(( Displayed signage of it’s use was in direct opposition, ie switch visual and screen visual prompts showed the reverse of each other at one and the same time, yet neither switch position made any difference to performance!/X( Luckily, before having to go into delve mode, the speaker logo reappeared together with the sound = major phew, but I now suspect that the time of a scaled down version of the universal big bang theory collision point result may well occur within this duo’s mass even more imminently, so I hope Kina’s being pressed to market all her stuff on DVD, as I’m adamant that I’m not shelling out on computers again and I don’t like the prospect of not being able to see her perform as my whimsy dictates!
August 3rd, 2008 at 6:51 am
Kina! Those bumbums are awesome! :) You’re awesome!
Do you know Telling Stories by Tracy Chapman? If you do, I think you’d do a spectacular cover of that! :) That is my official request, but I love everything you do! :)
Have a wonderful day.
August 3rd, 2008 at 1:17 pm
For your next video, you should grab that les paul in the background!! I think with a little electricity you might be able to set the world on fire.
August 3rd, 2008 at 5:16 pm
@ DrG
I think You Tube are just messing me around, as I had the same trouble on an Ana Free Original song too, but after watching a cover of hers in large screen mode, an original came up amongst the choice of videos to play at it’s end, I selected it and could watch it8O until I minimized the screen which resulted in that message being shown again instead of the video:( I repeated the route that got me there, but this time the video could be seen in it’s minimized state for about a couple of seconds before that spoiler of a message returned:(( Therefore their system knows that my computer has the stuff to watch it really, and if I didn’t know it, that brief view then proved I haveX( So, my guess could be that they have changed things to protect Artists’ original content, but, as I have today viewed some of that sort of thing there, I can’t! Almost puzzling - I say almost as I note that I was taken to the sign up page a few times without doing anything that would prompt it like pressing subscribe, comment, etc, so I guess that’s the root of it all really and it’s simply a marketing tool type partial withdrawal of service to egg the punter into signing up to be able to have what is most desirable, although, they didn’t do this the other times that I didn’t have an account with them, so I could be barking up the wrong tree, or at least I hope I am!
@Kina
HAPPY BIRTHDAY 2 YA - dare’s ya 2 try the Stevie Wonder song on that swanky keyboard of your’s = should be a bit of fun/laugh inducing time;) Here’s a couple of studio/piano videos you might not have had time 2Cb4:-

UhOh! Now it displays that messag on Kina’s Paper Bag cover, but because it was a response to Apple’s MTV video, I can watch that video enlarged and then select Kina’s from the list - well, at least I could just b4 = God knows what’s next, shame I’m only guessing, so this message might b4

August 4th, 2008 at 7:36 am
Very strange things happening with YouTube to be sure. I have not had any problem. Could it be as simple as having or not having a YouTube account?
August 4th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
@Dr G
If You Tube have changed the rules, then it could be a result of my no longer having an account, but that never made a difference in the past though, although it is something that the likes of Facebook do, so it’s a maybe. I guess I could rejoin to find out, but I’m not keen to do so, I do not endure being manipulated or controlled by those I do not have to accept it from unless I am prepared to do so - a love interest may get away with it for example, and as much as I use You Tube, it doesn’t fit that category, so rejoining is a bit on the doubtful side just yet!
One slightly major obstacle to not having an account being the reason is the fact that being able to watch original content varies like the ability of a popup blocker to stop popups, so maybe it’s as simple as Kina has put a block on my viewing her videos and my security is inconsistently stopping You Tube from knowing it’s me! If that’s the case, just let me know and I won’t try to view them anymore, for as much as it might seem that I am trouble by the amount of trouble I’m having, I’m not and I mean no harm so I’ll walk away without a peep of complaint even though I’ll obviously be missing out on something wonderful!
August 4th, 2008 at 6:09 pm
@DrG
Last sentence of 2nd paragraph below is another plausible possibility for weird occurrences, but I’d like to hope/think it’s not:-
“sabafa Says:
July 28th, 2008 at 5:48 am
Just 2 let u know, I’ve deleted my http://www.youtube.com/sabafa32ndRstr250608 account and am not planning on opening a new one. I intensely dislike attempts to control me, so as I had sufficient control to not put up with it, I put a stop to my input!
There are possibly bigger issues besides the following one, but fancy them thinking they could get away with stopping me from watching the end of a Tom & Jerry cartoon over and over and expect me to stay as part of the community! At that level of censoring, I shudder to think what they would do if I start to watch your videos again and again like I used to!
They are cool though in letting someone go, unlike some sites that do their utmost to ignore your requests to close your account, or worse ones that do ignore and actively stop you stripping out your stuff or to close your account, or even worse ones that keep your stuff and allow you to close your account but without allowing you to remove all your stuff!”
August 5th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
@DrG
I don’t know what cured it, but I’ve been able to watch all of Kina’s Original Playlist today 8D and only having had trouble from the 15th video onwards, so maybe my shoutout of thanks should go to:-
@GodHelpMeCureThisB4ItGetsEvenWorse
Thank you for your interest/input over this issue Gordon.
August 8th, 2008 at 1:15 pm
Hey Kina,
I just signed up to stickam. I wanted to ask you to please make a live show during the weekend and in the evening for you if it is possible for you so that we guys from Europe can actually get a chance to see you without getting up in the middle of the night. If you can’t well I’ll probably get up anyway! Can’t wait for that live show!
As we say here : bisous
Laurent
August 8th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
lol, I totally agree with Laurent. But if you can’t do this during the weekend, no problem ;-) I’m impatient !
Anyway, “joyeux anniversaire” as we say here… or “ç¥ä½ 生日快乔 as my mum would say :)

I discovered you by accident on YouTube and can’t stop playing “Stars Falling Down.” I hope that you’ll be putting this on your next album Kinna because I can’t get this song out of my head! ;-)
Cheers!
