    Loved the song. Your two voices work so well together.
    Is it normal for people to make music videos and play music in the street where you all are? Because none of the people in the background even seemed to think that this was something new or interesting.

    Is the contest open to people outside the U.S?

    Anyone else wondering what the haul was from her PO Box for her birthday?

  2. Yohan Says:

    Now “la la la la la la la” is stuck in my head again. Much better lighting than the Stickam debut, haha.

  3. blew Says:

    This is just about the cutest song ever.

    I just want to put it in my pocket and have it with me all the time.

    My day just got a little brighter.

    I’ve been a frequent visitor of your blog for a while but this is my first comment. よろしくおねがいします。

    looking forward to more songs, vidoes, and updates.
    Hope you make it up the Bay Area or to Oahu, or even Japan!

    Thanks for sharing your beautiful music with us!

  9. wwar1ace Says:

    Cute song and vid…. Parts of it felt like an old Partridge Family/Monkeys video… :-P

    @Thomas… That was the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, and there are often performers around showing their skills. Fun place to go. And I’m guessing that was the beach and pier at Santa Monica, as well.

    @Kina/David… Careful chasing those squirrels, though… the other day I saw one charge across 30-ft of open grass just to attack a girl’s feet as she walked by. Strangest thing I ever saw, but maybe sometimes even they *snap*.

    Heheheh. Crazy squirrels… nut-cases.

  14. 14  Becki Says:

    Amazing much? This has totally made my crap day a whole lot better. It’s so happy and sunny and beachy and insert happy go lucky synonym here. You can’t help but smile, but I know David Choi can. He’s got skill like that. Also, your voices mesh so well, it’s kinda perfect. Good stuff!

    @ Kina
    If you really wanna come close to a squirrel, try squirrel fishing. No hooks involved, so no worries. All you need is a fishing rod (with line and reel of course), some nuts from your local grocer and a lot of patience. My brother and his friends used to do this in the park a lot. I think he said he got to pet a squirrel actually. Just tie a nut onto the line, cast, and you’re good to go.

  15. 15  MiN SPace Says:

    Awesome .. well worth the wait. Kinda makes me wanna go to the beach now. Delima .. should i walk across the street and jump in the water .. hmmmmm Thats Waikiki for ya. instant beach access.

  16. 16  arch Says:

    @becki

    or come to berkeley… our squirrels will walk right up to you and demand food haha. you can even pet them

  17. 17  sabafa Says:

    Shame David couldn’t muster up the ‘fun guy’ looks to match Kina’s ‘fun gal’ ones, it must have been so hard for Kina to continue it through & hey did anyone else have no luck downloading the song? I only ended up with a balnk page and an announcement from Windows of an error on the page! Maybe it would have worked out if I’d signed up to xanga and put in for the prizes instead of just doing the voting, but probably just my system again - arg!

    I paused the video on that brutish rat bit and could see Kina’s mouth held open as if in shock, but didn’t the varment look cute making the great escape though - maybe Kina should take her snakes down there for a bit of retaliation feeding;P

  18. 18  Mama G Says:

    There are some people unfamiliar with David Choi… he’s famous for NEVER smiling (although I did catch some minor spasms that could be construed as the beginnings of a smile). I thought it was amusing to see him deadpan throughout a happy summer song video :)

  19. 19  Andy Says:

    KIIIINNNAA!!!

    It’s been a very long time, but I wanted to stop by to say hello. I had lost the cd’s you signed for me at your first Hotel California show, but recently found them…so it has been fun hearing them.

    Good Luck and I hope all is going well.

  20. 20  Alderin Says:

    That was so cute! Happy bouncy song and your voices mesh quite well! I love the little uke. :-) And the video-style video (how stupid does that sound?) is pretty cool, too!

    @wwar1ace: I’m such a dork, I actually laughed out loud at “nut cases”.

    @Becki: I’ve met “tame” squirrels that would climb up your leg to your shoulder to get a peanut from your shoulder. Very cute.

    @sabafa: I totally agree with you on David’s expression, he looks bored or unimpressed with the whole thing, even when “frolicking”. Great voice and uke play, though, so maybe he was going for contrast?

    *HUGS*

  21. 21  Becki Says:

    @ Arch
    Berkeley? As in Boston Berkeley or California Berkeley?

    @ Alderin
    Aw that sounds adorable! I guess the squirrels in Cleveland are just timid and or jerks. Maybe I’ll try and convince one to come out of our Maple tomorrow with some Pistachios.

  22. 22  Kyle Says:

    Wow! Your voices are made for each other! “My Time With You” is officially my favorite song! I hope we’ll see more collabos ‘tween you two because your voices blend so wonderfully! How long did it take you guys to write that song?

  23. 23  Code2mind Says:

    thats awesome!! gotta play it a few more times!!

  24. 24  Gene Parmesan Says:

    Good stuff. That was awesome.

  25. 25  arch Says:

  26. 26  Aeglos Says:

    I like it. It’s a spoonful of sugar.

    Who’s behind the camera?

  27. 27  undefined Says:

    *OOPS!* this is kina, not anonymous. sorry about that.

    @thomas_in_taipei
    no… its not too normal to walk around singing in the streets here… haha, we got some weird looks.
    @blew
    we’re in santa monica :)
    @cassie

    YAY!!! I’ve been waiting for this since the debut on live chat! :) And congrats - you made David smile a few times :) hehe…

  36. 36  sabafa Says:

    @ Alderin
    &
    @ Mama G

    3 hug back at ya 4 being on the same page as myself Alderin, but it seems that doing the Buster Keaton thing is David Choi’s gimmick (:thank you for wizening me on that Mama G & its good 2C the Kina effect was even breaking down such a well practised look a tad or 2 - maybe David should do more with Kina and become known as Smiler instead, especially as they sound good together;) although, I fear that our view will be shared by others who visit the video and also do not know of this!

  37. 37  J.C. Says:

    Awesome collaboration :). Who’s the guy hiding in the back seat? lol I’d say he’s about 5′10-5′11 j/k

    Looked like a lot of fun at the beach :).

  38. 38  Daniel J Says:

  41. 41  Nikki Says:

    This is such a cute song :)

  42. 42  sabafa Says:

    Any1 here having trouble getting access to Wndohs/Microisoft updates since the latest batch of ’security’ updates to cure holes that could let someone take over the computer? I’ve had to resort to putting 8 of their variant url’s into my safe list at their behest and still to no avail! So, that list is going to go byebyes straightaway, and am pondering as to just whom those downloads were really from, tch, but as somethings gone awry, I expect it was from the real deal - beware, there were 11 high priority ones in my case and that’s 4 a kept up to date computer!

    [...] little song by Kina Grannis and David Choi. This collaboration seems like it was done for a JCPenny marketing campaign on Xanga called, “Get That [...]

  44. 44  Glenn Says:

    Seems I am late :-( … yet I am still elated :-) A so very fun song!

  45. 45  SH. Says:

    A question: can you say to me what are the lyrics after “we’re gonna try out something new, we’ll … (??)” ?
    Thanks =)

  46. 46  blew Says:

    @ SH.
    I think it goes “we’re gonna try out something new, and we’ll make it art before the day is through” that is just how I hear it, it may be different. I listen to this song so much I should already memorize the lyrics haha.

  47. 47  sabafa Says:

    Aha, suspicious security updates that left me unable to update were only someone naughty depositing themselves as a user and hiding away, hoping not to be found within my so obviously damned and useless computer’s land, or so sm1 thought =

    @kina

    Have you thought about putting a cool Kina collection of footage together connected with your actual flights/etc like Roger McGuinn of the Byrds did in this video of footage from 1967:-
