hello everyone!

and another week goes by… this past week i recorded demos of most of my new songs that aren’t on albums yet. i’ve been brainstorming about how i want to approach all this new material and i’m getting really excited for it.

what else…. oh! i bought the nike plus sports band so that i can track mileage, time, distance and calories during my runs. super super fun!

ummmm. did anyone try my smoothie in a bowl??

oovret: Week 18

Do you prefer to stand or sit, while performing? hmmm… it depends on the day, the venue, the people there… i generally stand because it allows you to get more into the song, however, i often find myself feeling like i am about to fall over. sitting is fun but i can never find the perfect stool length, so my feet either end up dangling or being propped up too high. and then there is sitting on the ground… i might do that all the time if it wasn’t such a weird thing to do. plus i suppose it kind of defeats the purpose of coming to a show to see someone when they are hidden behind the crowd sitting on the floor. ha.
Approximately how many e-mails do you receive each week?
hmmm… i’d say around 350-500 if you count facebook, myspace, and youtube messages as well as email emails.
How many street-team members are registered?
there are currently 134 lovely wonderful street teamers. note to all of you– i am so sorry i’m lagging. there have needed to be some changes… i haven’t forgotten about your packets!
What is/was your favorite karaoke song?
i tend to avoid karaoke, it makes me feel a little awkward. for one– i am naked without my guitar, and two, i feel like if you try to sing well it makes it less entertaining… so i almost feel compelled to sing slightly off so i don’t feel like i’m trying too hard, and then that’d just be silly.
What size shoe do you wear?

    I’m not entirely sure why I’m sharing this, it’s not as interesting as I thought it might be in my head. But then again I’m generally much more interesting (and witty, smart, clever…well you get the point) in my head.

    Happy Labor Day! Thanks again for another great video. I purchased the Nike + kit but I haven’t opened the package yet, lol. I have however ran just not started on the Nike kit yet. Now I should!

    Wow I can not remember the last time i was up to see Kina’s blog the night it went up.

    anyways, I love this song Kina, you sing it so beautifully. and its such a calming song which could not have come at a better time as I am trying to figure out how im going to buy my books for school, they are like a million and one dollars, and I have like 2 dollars, if you get what im saying. So it was nice to take a break from the stress and listen to this blog.

    its been a very long week and has really taken its toll on me, so im glad to have such a claiming song to listen to.

    I havent been able to for the past few weeks because I’ve been extremely busy with my family coming from Colombia and stuff..it was awesome!
    Guess where I went that you should have gone? Disney World ;) lol
    anyways my family left last week and i miss theem :/ now my little cousin is here for 2 months to learn english =) i love it! He had to do it last year in Canada cool eh. Anywaysss enough about me although I did start classes this past week and Im prety psychedd..cz its my first year and i might quit my job at steak n shake!     Wow does your voice sound gorgeous on this song. I mean…wow. Just… wow.

    So why were you in the dark closet? It added an ethereal quality to the way you looked- a soft and pleasant image- perfect for the song. Thanks for the b-day shout out…another 5 seconds off of my 15 minutes of fame!

    Wow. So pretty. And close to perfect for me this week, since I’ve been melancholy about this sort of thing since Wednesday. My only complaint is that the song ended, and you started talking, and it broke my reverie. I kinda wanted to quietly reflect, maybe sigh a few times, stare off into the distance, that sorta thing :)

    Thank you for acptn my bfrndn:) I left a cmnt 2ths sng & 4gt tht You Tube break my heart when it has a word within, like <it3 and oh, it remains great fun to see you nearly fall off the planet just because you hit that twangy bum note - so0O funny, I’m really glad you left it in:) If you visit my photos, see if you can spot the westward boun ship, it should be easier to find though, than what I spotted in your artwork in the video above! I like those interior ones back in the house in the Take a Bow vid!

    Hi, has there been any problems regarding fake versions of this site reported, as when I entered about 1/2hour ago, the usual home,shows,media,photos,journal,forum clicks were at the left instead, of at the bottom - I don’t get to see all the usual stuff that’s really there to see, like the large click points at the top, etc, so I just assumed that there had been slight changes, but when I tried to leave a blog, either connectivity was brought up as an issue or just a white page instead, but there are no connectivity problems at this end, so am wondering if my name, mail and website details might have been yoinked elsewhere?

    So Kina,

    I have tried emailing you a couple of times over the last couple of months, but you haven’t responded. Would you consider helping to stop drunk driving by singing my song? I wrote a song with some assitance from Brooke White (she helped with the melody) about my father who was killed by a drunk driver when I was four.

    It is a good song… I just can’t sing. I’d like to have it recorded so that I can put it on my website etc… so that my father’s death has more meaning than just a tragedy.

    I’d appreciate your help. If your not interested…. could you email me and let me know so that I can stop trying to contact you. I’m just not sure whether you have received my messages.

    Yay, I am glad you didn’t forget about the street team packets! I have not been online regularly lately, and I have been wondering whatever happened to them!

    And as for the Karaoke thing… YES! I could not agree with you more! I believe that Karaoke is made for people to sound bad, and that is the beauty of it. So if you sound “good” singing it, it is not as fun/people wonder why. I actually entered a contest a month ago to win a spot singing the National Anthem at Fenway Park for a Sox game, and rather than having us sing the national anthem to begin with, the judges wanted us to sing Karaoke songs - from a list of 10 choices. I was so nervous!!! It is impossible to sound good singing karaoke. But I made it to the top 10 with my Christina Aguilera pick…. Sadly, I did not make the top 2 people they chose. : (

    Maybe one day I will win some singing contest, too.
