finally in the studio!
hello everyone!!
today was my first day in the studio to record my new album! i can’t believe after months and months of waiting it’s actually happening :) i’ll be in the studio monday through saturday during the month of november. i’m recording with producer rich jacques and i am very excited. today we had some fun with “stars falling down”. it’s pretty crazy… haha.
speaking of the album– i really really really would love your opinions. nowadays a standard album is 10-13 songs… which is not nearly enough. :( some of my songs, unfortunately, will not make the cut. so my question for all of you– what are the top 5 songs YOU would like on the album (not counting songs that are on any of my previous 3 cds)??
would it help if i listed some songs? here are some– but not all– of the possibilities, just to get your brain working. if you have a favorite that i didn’t list, please don’t hesitate to put it on your top 5! sometimes i forget about songs….

a word of warning– since during the month of november i will be in the studio mon-sat from early until late oclock, and sundays will be spent training for the marathon, sleeping, and catching up on other normal life obligations (grocery shopping, saying hello to my parents, cleaning…) you might notice that i become a little more scatter-brained, a little less creative in the blogs, and a little less responsive to emails, comments, etc. it is not because i don’t care!! once the album is done i should become a little more human again. i promise to keep you all looped in on things and show you clips from time to time.

=) haha… i am writing just because i am anxiously waiting for the video to be uploaded but i have to sleep! but tomorrow i have something to look forward to! =)
i heart kina grannis. kina, i am humbly begging you to perform here! there is a great venue here in fort collins called AGGIE THEATRE. amazing bands have performed here! WU TANG CLAN is performing here December 11. i went up to them earlier in the year to see if i can get u a gig here. do u charge? remember from facebook, “talent fee” hahahaha
@meeks. Thats’s no fair. There are good venue in London too - Wembley stadium, the O2 arena, after 2012 the olympic stadium. If it has to be a theatre, then there is The Globe (something to do with some geezer called Shakespeare or something)
Dunno why I’m half waiting for the video - the hotel wireless is too slow to stream it so I’d only have to leave it running, then download and cut to my iPod to watch anyway. (And I never normally get to see it till Tuesday anyway so its not that much different.)
Besides, I think I’m getting sleep deprived and crazy :-D. Sleep well people - hope the recording is going well, sufficient sleep, nutrients and exercise are being had, happiness is plentyfull (spelling? Even a word?) etc. etc.

Hey, Kina! You are pretty awesome! I have wanted to learn to play the guitar for the last few years, but have no musical talent (instrumentally) of which I can speak, so I would not know where to begin. Nothing seems more rewarding than being able to create something and hear/feel the results. You are one talented and lucky person, and I hope you never take that for granted no matter how famous you will most likely get. Anyway, please include this beautiful creations on your forthcoming CD . . .
