    Happy Thanksgiving everyone! And thank you Grannis family for providing such a welcoming community here.

  13. 13  Aeglos Says:

    Ah right hand technique…why must you be so elusive?

    Interesting video. Sad about teeny bear. Has he been missing since the last time you showed us that drawing in his absence? That can’t be good. I suspect it was…Mama G, in the laundry room, with the crowbar. You know how mothers are about old dirty things…

  14. 14  avweije Says:

    I’d like to wish a happy thanksgiving to all bloggers (us and non-us alike).

    Thank you Kina for sharing your music with us, I have only tried using 2 fingers on my pick hand so far, but I will make an attempt at the goldfish song someday soon.

    Thank you also for including me in your shoutouts, waiting a whole year for a bday shoutout just seemed an eternity, so thank you and yes you did make my day :))

    I’m thinking of getting a cam this weekend so I may make some postings of my own on youtube.

    Would you at all be interested in seeing me struggle at one of your songs or covers? I remember you saying in 1 video “if you could only see all the people you were playing for”, it’s not the same but close enough perhaps.

    Anyway, if I ever make one I’ll be sure to post it here.

    Thank you bloggers for blogging into my life.
    Thank you Kina for sharing yours with us.
    Thank the turkey for jumping on our plates.
    But never, no never thank bill gates.

    (not sure where that came from, but its 8am here, cut me some slack :P)

    Your tutorials are some of my favorite videos. Every time I watch them, I feel like playing right away…although, I don’t have a guitar and I don’t know how to play. lol I can foresee me learning to only play your songs and being happy about it.

    Happy Thanksgiving to you, Kina and the whole Grannis family…and my fellow Street Teamers and everyone else.

    And Happy Birthday to Arch and Meeks!

  21. 21  avweije Says:

    @mojojojo78:
    LOL. I had a good laugh at that one, here I am thinking you play guitar… cute.

    I have to say watching the videos does the same for me, I am typing with the guitar on my lap and I have had it there since I woke up this morning (I’ve actually played a bit already too, just found out I’m not a morning-guitar-person)

    @Alexpham:
    We don’t do thanksgiving here (holland), but my absolute fav-meal is the xmas dinner. I am part english and spent most of my xmasss’s in england, and their xmas dinner is probably closest to a thanksgiving dinner we have here.

    Big ole turkey, gravy, roast potatoes, stuffing, veggies, trifle.

    God life can be good.

  22. 22  Alexpham Says:

    @avweije: Dang that is so good so i will be eating for you my friend as an honor for Europeans that dont celebrate thanksgiving though i have ppl from france and germany i wish i had some in Holland though there are many vietnamese people there cause i know some and can you tell me how to say Vietnamese people in Dutch thankyou. 25. 25  sabafa Says:

    @Aeglos:

    I don’t know, but ‘IN’ the lake seems like a plausible enough site backed up with an unconscious slip of possible spoken fact, swiftly corrected so sheepishly and thus remains highly suspicious! dum dum daaaaaaa

    @ all

    Yay, Ray LaMontagne’s back, wonders whether he has begun another comment record breaking blahg for us:)

    @ kina

    I’m thankful that you’ve associated all of us, because placed out of context, that means we’re all your partners now and no longer just lovers of <u3

  29. 29  sabafa Says:

    @dro or ryan:

    Editing tutorials could be cool posts!
    &
    I’m adding ‘Seriously’ to your ‘cool bedroom’ statement, minus the bunk beds, of course, but then again, tis good training for advancing to a four poster for whoever gets the bottom and they’re gr8;)

  30. 30  LiamTyler Says:

    Hey kina. :D
    Thanks for the tutorial.
    I was wondering if you could view and critique some of my music and videos.
    I need some one who will be brutally honest.
    I can’t get better if i don’t know what i’m doing wrong. ^_^
    Anyways; youtube.com/user/theliamtyler

    Is the ‘Trots’ something that happens because of having so much Turkey at thankgiving, kind of like a purging? j/k

    @sabafa: But is he this Ray LaMontagne??

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ddX1FOD1Yx4

  37. 37  avweije Says:

    @Alexpham:

    “Vietnamese people” in dutch is “Vietnamese mensen”.

    people=mensen, Vietnamese is the same, just pronounced differently, it would be something like this:

    The “vietnam” part is similar, then “ese” is “ace-uh”, so “vietnam-ace-uh”

    Hope all your thanksgivings are good.

  38. 38  maryanne Says:

    Happy Thanksgiving from your friends up north(you know, the people you blame for the cold weather haha juust kidding!)! 44. 44  sabafa Says:

    @sabafa:

    @arch really!

    Ha-Ha, somehow the @arch bit didn’t happen for the link that this is linked to:/

  45. 45  sabafa Says:

    @Kina/family

    I’ve just been watching Kina’s Realize cover, and after all this time, it has only just occurred to me to ask what caused the camera to fall, was it a camera attacking snail like had happened to mine?

    I think that might have happened because that notoriously over amarous snail fancied his chances with the one he’d spotted in the lens, ie his own reflection!

    Oh, if one first finds/plays Kina’s latest video within the blahg, does that then stop the subscription one from being sent, as I still haven’t received it, although I’ve now got one in a new playlist anyway, but something’s amiss, somewhere along the line!

  46. 46  CLS_LURCH Says:

    @sabafa been having the same thing happen here most recent vids not showing up in subscription

  47. 47  Meadow Says:

    Yey Teacher Kina! Thank you for showing us your room, I love all the artwork by the talented Misses (is that plural for Miss? I hope so) Grannis. I hope you are enjoying your time at home with the family. :)

  48. 48  sabafa Says:

    @CLS_LURCH:

    Thanks for sharing that with me CLS_LURCH, sickening though it is to hear of others also having computer/You Tube problems! I’ve been having that much trouble within my site again that I (and I am being serious) almost deleted my account again a few times since this video was posted and I would have done without hesitation if I only held subscriptions, but I have have lost friends through deleting previous accounts and have been blessed to have kept some over and over again, some have done that until this account had been opened and either haven’t got around to pal up again or have now had enough - if the latter is the case, I don’t blame them, I’ve long ago had more than enough of all the computer strife! A smidgen of the woes being faced can be viewed on my channel, which can be got to by clicking upon the blue link above this text, to be honest though, I think many of the problems are Windows Internet Explorer/Microsoft based!

    May computer peace settle upon us before we settle in the ground and get the Heaven issue perfect one for gratis!

    Anyway, after reading this, I bet you’d rather I’d only played the good old Thunder and Lighting game at your door earlier on, so don’t bother getting up, I’ll close the door on my way out of here;))

    @Harold Bareng:

    I seriously don’t know, I’d like it to be though, but with no link to prove otherwise, I guess we’ll just have to hope that that commenter would like to prove it to us someday, we’re friendly enough, so maybe it will happen, especially if it is him as it might reap more album sales, etc for him and hopefully some colabs with Kina too8D It might turn out to be an elabaroute hoax by thuff7 to get me back through getting me first and savouring a lengthy stalk/kill because I got him imbetween times:/ay\: does that even dare to compute:? Could even be the Kina/MamaG partnership working away at some mischieveousness level of cookieness, afterall, they’ve both been missing in action a lot and the image has been missing too at times, but it’s all good:) and no TROUBLE:-

    Oo that so better hadn’t be a sneaky silent bid for Kina’s black Tak that might not even be up for grabs yet:P but in the interest of camaraderie for a selfish cause, I’m not adverse to you doing a run with her and bringing it back over for me;))

    Yay, there doesn’t seem to have been any deaths through food poisoning reported here yet, so you all must be good enough cooks to not dwindle the Kina fan listing unexpectedly!

    Did the meal get the open waistband up salute or maybe even the full monty zip down award?

  78. 78  maryanne Says:

    @confused newbie: aww gee lol thank YOU n00bs!

    @thuff7: naw, nothing much happening over here. Well, my dad lives and works in NY so he came home for the long weekend!! Oh and I can’t forget about the snow ;p…. did someone say House? lol

    This time I’ll say shuck, so that I can clam up whilst you bring out some more pearls from your oyster like shell for I’m off to You Tube land as I hear the call of Kina beckoning and stirring within my very soul, so tis away home for me to the dulcet tones of our aeolus, yet classy lassie! Good night and God bless.

  82. 82  thuff7 Says:

    @sabafa:

    ha! No need for the full monty, thank goodness! We had a ton of food, but the conversation was satisfying and kept our mouths busy, so the tradition of eating ourselves into a vegetative state was for once foregone.

  83. 83  thuff7 Says:

    @maryanne:

    Snow??!! How much? What kind?

    I can’t get enough snow. Mostly because I love the smell and the way it muffles sound. But I also love it because my fellow Northern Virginians are wholly incapable of handling the smallest of flakes. I love to watch them flounder about so helplessly. The entire metropolitan Washington DC area is hopelessly crippled my a mere 2″ dusting. So even the hint of snow means a paid day off!

    “House” is on as I type. But it is not lupus!!!! =D

    Trip was great. It was 60 in North Carolina after a week of being in the 20’s and 30’s at home. We were totally unprepared and were roasting long sleeve shirts and sweaters while we sat in patio furniture outside. My aunt brought some albums she made of our family genealogy going back to the 1790’s.

    AP. What kind of camera?

    @Alexpham: wow… you did the whole 5AM wake up?! haha… i got to Fry’s at about 9AM & it was so super crowded, but thankfully, the lines moved quickly.

    so it’s back to the daily grind… how are you all?????

  86. 86  Alexpham Says:

    @evann: super duper chill man my family is fun haha! =)

    @thuff7: the red Kodax MX10something it was 89 dollars and in red (stupid target colors)so we bought two one for me and one for a person in vietnam. Oh at least you guys where cold any snow cause cali just has rain winter season only all we do is go up to the mountains for snow.

    @g3mini:

    Hi g3mini!! Thanks, our trip was awesome. Lots of driving (12 hours out of the past 48) but we had a great visit with family.

    How was your holiday?? I hope is was great!

    I did get the recipe for the turnovers. Now we are home, so we will shop for some seasonal favorites and maybe even a small turkey for our house. The downside to visiting family is not have the leftovers for turkey sandwiches. So I will be making the pumpkin turnovers. We’d be happy to share one with you, but will do so in spirit at least.

  91. 91  Alexpham Says:

    @thuff7: TURNOVERS? are those like empanadas? and i got gumbo receipe from family in Loiusiana.

  92. 92  thuff7 Says:

    @Alexpham:

    Hey AP. Yes we lived in CA (Rancho Cordova near Sacramento) We would go up into the Sierras every year around now to toboggan and cut our own Christmas tree. Lots of fun. Then back down to the mild weather.

    How long did the guest from Vietnam stay? Where are they from in Vietnam? I don’t think I ever asked you that either. My wife was born in Tra Vinh which is a province in the Mekong Delta. She still has family there. Her aunt built a hospital there, but she is in Philadelphia now and someone else in the family is running the hospital.

  93. 93  thuff7 Says:

    @Alexpham:

    g3mini passed along the recipe. They are more like individual pies. But I’ve seen Mexican ones that have pumpkin, chilies and chorizo.

    I heard there is a large Vietnamese population near New Orleans. Probably the climate and the fishing is an attraction.

    Well, I’m signing out from the east coast. It’s been a long travel day. Good to be home in my own bed!! Night all!

  94. 94  Alexpham Says:

    @thuff7: theyare still here but in vegas just to see i guess they got lucky asking the government to come over they were accepted here on their first plea. I am guessing they are up north like Ha Noi. Well hopefully i can cme over there after my college years and help the hospital twice a year well the kids anyway and maybe the old, but how was your kids during your journey? were they asleep or a handful? well usually i am in the car with my little cousins they don’t mess around i just listen and play with them heehee i wish i can meet your kids they seem like angels.=)

  95. 95  g3mini Says:

    @confused newbie: oh… side note… just so you know, i’d be paperclip “girl/lady” lol… NOT guy! hahaha

    @Alexpham: ANGRY mob, like in NY. too sad an incident (the walmart associate). & the attacks in india, a little scary & a lot sad. oh AP, you should try the turnovers, & yeah, i guess they are like empanadas.

  98. 98  sabafa Says:

    @thuff7:

    Now that sounds good until one remembers reasons for being taught that it is more polite to not talk whilst eating include that it is such a waste of food spraying it all over the guests which thus stops the inducement of a delightful food gorge nap through the dizzying mix of almost getting starved whilst also partaking exercise levels of dodging food spray and thus I conclude an alternative vision of your clan gathering from that which was first gained:P LOL

  99. 99  sabafa Says:

    @ Misa/Emi & Boyfriend/any1interested

    Here’s something that might tickle your fancy, but I’ll give a word of caution, my computer would not allow the design kit to be opened, so be careful if your thinking of saving or opening the zip file - its details are shown so you can give it a look over Misa, obviously it’s not shown in their click for it:)

    “DESIGN SP ARTWORK

    To celebrate the release of Crack the Shutters, SP.com are running a competition to design the artwork for the website only remix version of the single.

    The best one will be chosen by the band and will be the official digital single sleeve. The only rule we’re setting for this one is that you need to have Snow Patrol and Crack the Shutters somewhere on the artwork, but otherwise get those creative juices flowing.

    We’ve also uploaded a design kit which includes the 7″ and CD covers for inspiration and the required text in our SP font. You can get this by clicking
    http://zaphod.uk.vvhp.net/click/5320075-69101/webbeta.sov.uk.vvhp.net/~universal/Polydor/snowpatrol/CTS_design_kit.zip.

    Entries need to be emailed to us at remixcomp@snowpatrol.com by Wednesday 10th December, with the artwork sent to us as a Square JPEG, 72 dpi to fit 350px x 350px.

    N.B. Please try and keep the files underneath 2MB’s.

    Good Luck

    The Eskimos”

    @sabafa:

    You’re killing me!!!! Now I can’t get that image out of my head which is hysterical!

    Fortunately (in this case, anyway), the Huff clan is quite long-winded, thus allowing ample time for the others to clear their plates whilst one of us waxes philosophic, yada, yada, yada.

  106. 106  thuff7 Says:

    @avweije:

    Wow, what is most amazing is that apparently, some people in the audience actually brought their own vogeltjes just in case the dans broke out. =D

  107. 107  evann Says:

    so where is ‘hater’ this week? his/her comments are so terrific :)

    @Alexpham:
    yumm you just made me wicked hungry!! argg

  108. 108  sabafa Says:

    Why thank you, glad you like it, hopefully, if I get used to hearing such responses, I wont feel so bad when I hear it being used along with the rejection of a proposal! ;))

    I like to think that death by laughter sounds such a nice way to start ones permanent life:)) So I see that you have an apt family name for one that uses some of its members to distract the main body of it whilst the remainder then doggy bag up those distracted, and, most unfortunate kinsfolk’s food! 8))

  109. 109  maryanne Says:

    Good morning lovely people!

    @sabafa: mhmm, definitely. btw i like your comments. they are really fun to read.

    @thuff7: yea there isn’t not much snow but it was very windy last night so it felt like there were little dust particles hitting your face :D. haha oh man, people still complain about the snow here even after living here for soo long lol it’s funny. haha good thing it’s not lupus ;p. who is your favorite character?

    @Alexpham: yes! empanadas are great.

  110. 110  avweije Says:

    @thuff: you play that song in holland and people go crazy, mad folk

    @all:
    I need some advice, who out there records videos to put on youtube? I got a webcam with mic built in today and just recorded my 1st youtube vid, but the sound is very soft.

    What’s a good tool for making webcam vids..?

  111. 111  thuff7 Says:

    @maryanne:

    So the fear of the sight of white seems almost universal. =P
    So far, we only had flurries for about 5 minutes which evaporated before they hit the ground, but it was still the lead story on the local news. 8/

    Favorite character: hmmmmmm. This could take weeks lol ;-D

    That would have to be OTH (other than House). I love them all except Vogler which is a given thx to Chi McBride’s brilliance as an actor.

    I loved Amber from the start b/c it was clear that the screenwriters wanted you to hate her as CTB. In hindsight through reruns, she was even more incredible. But she won me over on the speech she gave to House about watching the football game and noticing that the winni
